From any location in Westmorland, head towards Holmrook. If you're starting from Kendal, take the A5284 north, then merge onto the A590 towards Barrow-in-Furness. Follow signs for the A595 towards Holmrook. Once in Holmrook, follow signs for Hardknott Pass (B5289). The road to the fort is steep and winding, so drive carefully. There is parking available near the fort. Note that there may be a small charge for parking.
