Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main entrance of the Apostolic Palace, head towards the left side of the courtyard. Walk straight until you reach the main road, Via della Conciliazione. Cross the road carefully and continue straight ahead. You'll see the large dome of St. Peter's Basilica in front of you. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Piazza San Pietro. Cross the piazza, passing by the impressive colonnades, and you will find Palazzo Nuovo on your right as you enter the Capitoline Museums.

    From the Apostolic Palace, walk to the nearest bus stop on Via della Conciliazione. Take bus number 87 towards 'Termini'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the 'Piazza Venezia' stop. From there, walk towards the Capitoline Hill. You will see the Palazzo Nuovo as you approach the museum area. It is just a short walk from the bus stop, located in Piazza del Campidoglio.
