Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Apostolic Palace, exit the building and head east towards Via della Conciliazione. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Piazza San Pietro. Cross the square and walk straight to reach the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. After visiting the basilica, head back to the square and take the right exit towards Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking until you reach the end of the street where it meets with the Tiber River. From there, turn left and walk along the riverbank until you reach the Ponte Sant'Angelo. Cross the bridge and continue straight on Lungotevere Castello. After a short walk, take a right onto Via della Conciliazione and then a left onto Via dei Gracchi. Follow this street until you reach Piazza dell'Indipendenza.

    Starting from the Apostolic Palace, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via della Conciliazione. Take bus number 40 towards Stazione Termini and ride for approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Piazza della Repubblica' stop. From there, head northeast on Via Nazionale, then take a left onto Via dell'Indipendenza.
