Getting There

Walking
From the Apostolic Palace, exit the building and head east towards Via della Conciliazione. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Piazza San Pietro. Cross the square and walk straight to reach the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. After visiting the basilica, head back to the square and take the right exit towards Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking until you reach the end of the street where it meets with the Tiber River. From there, turn left and walk along the riverbank until you reach the Ponte Sant'Angelo. Cross the bridge and continue straight on Lungotevere Castello. After a short walk, take a right onto Via della Conciliazione and then a left onto Via dei Gracchi. Follow this street until you reach Piazza dell'Indipendenza.
