Bavi Church Ruins: A Glimpse into Vietnam's Past

Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Tam Dao, head southwest on QL2A towards the town of Ba Vi. Follow QL2A for approximately 20 km until you reach the intersection with DT88. Turn left onto DT88 and continue for another 15 km. You will see signs for Vườn Quốc Gia Ba Vì (Ba Vi National Park). Follow the signs, and once you reach the park entrance, pay the entrance fee (approximately 30,000 VND per person). Continue driving through the park, following the signs to Bavi Church Ruins, which is located about 5 km inside the park.

• Public Transportation

  From Tam Dao, take a local bus or a taxi to the nearest bus station in Vinh Yen. From Vinh Yen, you can catch a bus to Hanoi. Once in Hanoi, navigate to My Dinh Bus Station, where you can catch a bus heading to Ba Vi. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 hours. After arriving in Ba Vi, you may need to take a taxi or a local motorbike taxi to reach the entrance of Ba Vi National Park. Remember to pay the entrance fee (approximately 30,000 VND per person) before continuing to the Bavi Church Ruins, which is about 5 km from the park entrance.

• Motorbike

  If you're comfortable riding a motorbike, rent one in Tam Dao. Start by heading southwest on QL2A towards Ba Vi. Continue for about 20 km until you reach the DT88 intersection. Turn left onto DT88 and ride for another 15 km. Follow the signs to Vườn Quốc Gia Ba Vì. After entering the park, pay the entrance fee (approximately 30,000 VND per person) and continue riding for about 5 km until you reach Bavi Church Ruins.
