Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to the nearest major road in Northern Highland and find Highway 51. Once on Highway 51, head north towards Manitowish Waters. After approximately 15 miles, take the exit toward County Hwy W. Turn left onto County Hwy W and continue for about 4 miles. Then turn right onto Discovery Lane, which is well marked. The North Lakeland Discovery Center will be on your right at 14006 Discovery Ln. There is parking available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  Using public transportation can be challenging in this area due to limited services. However, if you can reach Manitowish Waters via bus, you will likely arrive at the main transit station. From there, you can call for a taxi or rideshare service to reach the North Lakeland Discovery Center, which is approximately 5 miles away. Be prepared for a fare that could range from $10 to $20, depending on the service you use.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, biking from Northern Highland to the North Lakeland Discovery Center is an option. You can take County Hwy W directly from Northern Highland, which has a shoulder for safe cycling. The ride is approximately 4 miles and offers a scenic view of the area. Make sure you wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws.

• Walking

  If you are feeling particularly fit and the weather is nice, you can walk to the North Lakeland Discovery Center. It is about a 4-mile walk from Northern Highland. Head towards County Hwy W and follow the same route as described for biking. Ensure you have proper walking shoes and be aware of traffic along the highway.
