Trinita dei Monti

The Spanish Steps (Italian: Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti) are a set of steps in Rome, Italy, climbing a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti, dominated by the Trinità dei Monti church at the top.

Piazza di Spagna

Piazza di Spagna is one of the most famous and visited squares in Rome. In the center stands the Barcaccia Fountain, designed and sculpted in Baroque style by Pietro and Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Located in an extraordinary position in the center of the city, in Campo Marzio, Piazza di Spagna represents an internationally renowned place. Piazza di Spagna, with its characteristic butterfly shape like two triangles that intersect at the vertices, as well as being a symbolic monument of the majestic Roman Baroque, is today one of the most exclusive meeting places in Rome, with its palaces, sumptuous hotels , famous restaurants, shops and designer ateliers. The most famous shopping streets such as via Condotti, via del Babuino and via Borgognona branch off from here.

Trevi Fountain

The origin of the fountain dates back to 19 BC, a time in which it constituted the termination of the aqueduct, the Aqua Virgo. The first fountain was built in the Renaissance, commissioned by Pope Nicholas V. The current external appearance of the Trevi Fountain dates back to 1762 when, after several years of construction by Nicola Salvi, it was finalized by the architect and set designer Giuseppe Pannini. As an anecdote, the name Trevi derives from Tre Vie, given that the fountain was the meeting point of three streets. Tradition also narrates that if you throw a coin over your shoulder into the fountain you will return to Rome

Pantheon

The Pantheon is one of the most interesting historical and architectural monuments that we can still visit today in the center of Rome. It is the most important testimony of the great Roman Empire, as well as the best preserved building.

Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona, one of the most beautiful and famous squares in Rome and in the world, is one of the splendid Baroque masterpieces with works by Bernini and Borromini. It was built on the perimeter of the ancient Stadium of Domitian. Piazza Navona was built on the site of the ancient Stadium of Domitian, commissioned by the emperor himself in 86 AD. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the square came back to life in the second half of the 15th century as one of the city's main open-air markets; the remains of the battered stadium were paved over to create Piazza Navona. Piazza Navona owes its name to the agonal games (in agonis), gymnastic competitions that took place in ancient Rome. Over time it is believed that the name "in agone" changed to "Navone" and, due to its resemblance to the hollow profile of a ship, the square finally took on the name "Navona".
