We did 2 single day trips. One to Letea Forest via Mila 23 and one to thr Medieval Fortresses and back to Bucharest. Our time on the Danube Delta was second to none. Migration season happened late this year and there were SO many birds, it was unbelievable. We are not into bird watching, but watching this migration was truly amazing, we really enjoyed it! Riding on the Delta was also an awesome experience! Lunch in Letea was a once in a lifetime experience and brought me back to my childhood when my Great Grandma would make gogoşi! An unforgettable trip, we highly recommend! Our second day was a trip to 3 medieval fortresses. I have been to many before, so I have seen better preserved and better explanation, but it was still an enjoyable relaxed (but long trip back to Bucharest) day. We really enjoyed the Lake side picnic prepared for us and seeing the ancient ruins! Highly recommend this company, they will do anything to make sure you have a great time and see everything you want to see!!!

The most professional guide I've ever met. An incredible experience. I have been to the Danube Delta more than ten times but I feel like I visited it for the first time today.

What a wonderful experience ! The boat trip was amazing ! The view and the packs of birds are spectacular ! The boat was confortable and thanks to the guide we learned so much about the history of the letea forest, it's people and it's animals. Iliuta is an amazing guide, very respectful of his surrondings and the animals, always smiling and ready to stop the boat for us to take pictures ! The best company at Tulcea to have a complete tour of the Danube Delta ! :)

We chose the One Day Delta trip, departing from Tulcea to Letea forest with a stop for Mila 23 village. We were an 8 group friend and we decided to rent a private tour just for us. It was very simple to book it. Just a click away directly from their website. We had some operational requests, which they were very kind to help us with. So our day started early in the morning. Around 8.00 am, we were already in Port Aval Tulcea, eager to embark on our new adventure. It was not long until we were given lifejackets and we boarded our ride for the day. We were ready to discover the charming delta. The tour included a local guide. Our guide was Cristi, which was very well informed and had very good knowledge of the entire region. And he had huge patience to answer our nonstop questions. We thank him for that. The day started calmly with gently floating on the delta's canals. Cristi was giving all the inside needed to have a proper image of the soundings. At midday, after a four-hour journey through the water labyrinths, we reached Mila 23, a traditional village surrounded by water, which has a special charm. All the white and blue houses have access to the water, to the old Danube and have a small pier. The guide told us that every villager has his own boat, without it they couldn’t survive. The village has narrow, cobbled alleyways, crowned with flowers and plants. A maze that was a pleasure to get lost to. In this village, there are no cars, no roads, and the atmosphere was great. We continued our journey, through the amazing channels and lakes of the delta for few more hours till Letea forest. There was a jeep waiting for us to take us around. Letea Forest is the oldest natural reservation in Romania. It was established in 1938 and it is located deep in the Danube Delta. It is the only place in Europe where you can see clinging plants. The most spectacular however are the old oak trees. There are many trees which are 400 years old and a few which go for more than 700 years. You can also admire the approximately 2,500 wild horses which were used for agriculture around 1990 but after the communist period, along with the economic downfall in the area, many of these horses were set free. After all that visit, we stopped at a local family and had an amazing local lunch, based on traditional fish recipes. After our late lunch, we jumped back to the boat to Tulcea. It was an amazing authentic experience for us that we highly recommend. Discover the Danube Delta is a great team that tries to show you in a sustainable way the beauty of the Delta.

Great day trip from Tulcea to Letea forest . Amazing, pleasant, helpful and well knowledgeable guide, Iulian( Negru). Breathtaking views and places. Our guide explained us lots about wild life, birds, plants, channel maze and the major Danube arms: Chilia, Sulina and Sfantul Gheorghe, life and living in Danube Delta. After few hours sailing, we had a stop at Mila 23, a great opportunity to buy some ponchos for my party (was a bit rainy and we didn't had the right gear,well... trusting the weatherman :)), also is great to have binoculars for birdwatching and lots of other views. After this, few hours later, we arrived at Letea( sort of a safari, don't worry a full of fun one). Again, a beautiful place, lots of info about, from our guide. We left Letea and we had our lunch (Heaven, for fish dish lovers), in a beautiful rustic location. A little break and back again in our boat, we returned to Tulcea.

This day trip was a great success. Very we prepared, nice itinerary to Letea forest - we saw lots of birds and got many explanations about names, habits,...-and the visit to the forest itself was also very interesting. The kids loved it!

We went for a day trip from Tulcea to letea in the Danube delta, with the guide Cris. We had a really great day! Amazing birds, rivers, lakes and wild life. We can really recommend the trip to Letea. Cris was really helpful and made our boat trip a joy. Danube delta is best seen in real life and not on pictures.

Our guides from "Discover Delta Danube" were amazing. They explained us everything about birds, plants and the area and were very thoughtful. One of them was a professional fisherman and knew every area on the Danube. The other guide was an ornithologue and was able to give us so precise information about the fauna. We also ate fresh fish in a small and authentic village in the Delta. Lovely! We really recommand you this compagny.
