The airboat tour was amazing! Our airboat guide (Cory) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He had a deep understanding of the flora and fauna in the swamp. We saw several alligators, little and big, all close up and learned a lot about these amazing animals. The plantation tour was very educational and I learned quite a few new things I didn’t know before. The grounds are lovely and the guides are happy to answer any questions. Our driver and guide, Giselle, was a font of knowledge about New Orleans and had many stories to share about the history and culture.

Our airboat captain was knowledgeable and informative about the 'gators and birds that we encountered. The Destrehan Plantation and the family that owned it had fascinating histories, including involvement in an 1811 slave rebellion. Our van driver was full of interesting information about New Orleans topography, flooding and water management, as well as cooking.

This was a fantastic 1/2 day tour. We were so lucky & saw many alligators, eagles etc.... on the swamp excursion. The Destrehan Plantation was fascinating so much history .... Our guide Rene from Isabelle Tours gave us some much information whilst at the plantation & also in transit to & from. It was a spectacular tour. Highly recommended.

The best part of this tour was the pick up and drop off by Isabell. She gave us a great deal of information about the past of New Orleans. And the present. She was a wealth of knowledge. She made sure that each leg of our tour was done in a timely fashion. She was always there when we needed her! The Airboat ride could have been a bit more informative.

The small group experience felt very VIP being picked up from the hotel and getting personal treatment. The guide was very an experienced local who gave us interesting details. The airboat ride was a thrill and we saw a lot of wild birds in addition to the alligators. The Detreshan plantation was small enough to get a real feel of the time period and was unforgettable.

She included an informative and entertaining tour of the city during passenger pickup and travel to each location, and took great care of us overall. The bayou portion of our tour was beautiful and exciting, again with top notch service from our knowledgeable airboat captain. The plantation and grounds are lovely, while the history is both inspiring and heartbreaking. I highly recommend Tours by Isabelle to experience the best!

We’re so happy that we booked our tour with Tours by Isabelle. This is by far one of the most friendly and professional tour company’s we have ever dealt with. We even had the opportunity to speak with Isabelle herself and she is amazing person. We booked the small group half day Airboat Swamp Adventure & Destrehan Plantation tour. The day before our tour we received an email confirming our pick-up time. Yes, they pick you up at your location in a very clean, air-conditioned van. Rene, our driver, was excellent, super informative and shared with us numerous fun facts about New Orleans and the wonderful state of Louisiana. Our first stop was the Airboat Swamp Adventure, where all of our check-in details were handled by Rene. Once we received our boarding passes, Rene introduced us to our Skipper and we boarded our boat. A ride into the swamps is a must for anyone visiting New Orleans. Be sure to wear sun screen and bring sunglasses, water and snacks. Remember, there aren’t any McDonalds in the swamps. Ha. After the adventure, Rene was waiting for us on the dock, got us all back into the van and off we went for part two of our tour. The Destrehan plantation tour was very enjoyable. Again, Rene, handled all of our check-in details, gave us plenty of time to use the restroom and introduced us to our Destrehan Plantation tour guide who wore historic costume. The tour was great and the guide really brought “history of the Destrehan Plantation to life.” After the guided tour, we had plenty of time to explore the spectacular grounds of the plantation. If offered, don’t miss a very informative presentation of how Bousillage is made. Bousillage is a mixture of clay, crushed shells and vegetal binder, such as straw or Spanish moss, that forms the interior wall insulation of the buildings. Time flies on this tour and before we knew it Rene was escorting us back to our van and after a short ride we arrived back at our hotel giving us plenty of time to tour the “Big Easy.” Thank you, Isabelle and your incredible company, Tours by Isabelle, we had a great time and can see why you’ve been in the business for 45 years.!
