Ronaldo and I are passionate people with a special heart for travel.
I'm from Mexico, and both Ronaldo and I have lived in Spain and now Chicago - cities were fell in love with for its diversity and art. Art is important to both of us. I have a background in photography and Ronaldo has a background in Flamenco dancing (Ronaldo co-founded the “12 Tiempos Flamenco Company” in Chicago).
When we are not working on our art, we are in the kitchen focused on our other passion - food. In Spain, I was fortunate enough to work at the Michelin Star Restaurant, Carles Abellan.
Now in Chicago, we pay homage to the Mexican classics and Spanish staples we fell in love with and work in the local influences from Chicago into our cuisine

Carla is a world-class host! Beautiful home with artsy decor. Food was amazing and entertainment took me back to my days in Barcelona. Would highly recommend to anyone!
Wonderful event. Great atmosphere and delicious food, everything was perfect and so enjoyable.
Carla’s Mole Class was the perfect surprise anniversary gift for my husband and friends. It was a great group activity with everyone adding their special touches to the sauce. After we had made the amazing mole we all enjoyed dinner in Carla’s lovely condo. Thanks for making it a memorable and entertaining evening.
I had gifted this experience to my parents. They had an overall average experience ( other than the food). It felt over priced for what was offered. A couple of things that can be improved : - host should sit and eat or atleast Give company to the guests while they are eating. My parents felt very out of place as the host was cleaning and going about her housework while they ate by themselves. The host could have spoken and connected with them about her travel and chef experiences. -some dishes from the dessert and appetizer were missing from the actual menu that was cooked. Different than what was published with the experience. If the host decides not to make something they need to communicate or reduce the price for the experience. I was surprised and didn’t find value for money for the experience as two items were not made from the menu and we weren’t informed about them. - host should take care of housekeeping items like cleanliness of the Aprons that are provided to the guests.
Carla and Rolando were warm, welcoming and very attentive to all the guests there. The tapas were delicious and the timing was perfect. The flamenco dancing was entertaining, enjoyable and fun. The four of us in our party agreed that the sangria was totally watered down and tasted like flavored water. The other thing we were surprised about was that the mole we were given (as an extra) was served without anything to put it on....i.e. tortilla, cracker, plain cookie (like Bischoff). Never heard of it being served that way.
Carla and her home were all things warm, fun and hospitable. I booked this experience last minute as an anniversary gift, and would do it again in a heartbeat!
