Love the experience would def come back for now similar trips. It’s such a beautiful thing to be close to the nature and enjoy the big ocean creatures swimming next to you
Great tour. Nice to have comments from a marine biologist. We saw humpack whales but also a hunting pack of orcas which was amazing.
It was a perfect day for spotting whales in the bay along with the expert help of the crew and captain of the boat. This is my second time going on this trip and I was not disappointed with the experience and staff.
So happy with this tour. We saw other companies giving tours and Sea Goddess definitely has the best boat! It wasn't crowded, there was lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. The naturalist was very informative and the crew was super sweet. We saw humpback whales and 2 different species of dolphins. The captain kept making adjustments to the boat to make sure we had the best view and saw as many whales as possible. At the end, the naturalist came around to each person to see if we had and questions. I highly recommend this tour and would take it again if I'm back in town. Make sure to bring some cash, the crew does accept tips upon departure.
Beautiful day, modest swell. Whales had left for breeding but for 2 juveniles and one more mature whale. Large flocks of birds chasing the anchovies. Sea lions were entertaining. The whales were staying near the surface to play with the anchovies. Plenty of room on the boat.
We had great weather and saw lots of exciting sea life. Leaving out of Moss Landing is a bonus as you’re very close to the whale feeding grounds, so there’s less time on the boat before you start seeing activity. There were diving pelicans and dozens of sea lions feeding and sun bathing. We also saw 3 humpback whales, 2 juveniles and 1 very large young adult. They came close to us and one even swam under the boat. We saw lots of flukes and spouts, and our ship’s captain kept moving the boat for the best viewing, so there were plenty of opportunities to get photos. Overall it was a perfect day of whale watching. Jonah was our guide, a local grad student studying fish (ichthyology), he was very knowledgeable and friendly, he really enhanced the experience. I also recommend getting the VIP upgrade as the views from the top deck are amazing.
