Very informative & interesting tour. Capt Pete was so knowledgeable & did a wonderful job. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Definitely worth going on and would do it again with family when we return. Great way to learn the history as Capt Pete explained it all. It was a really neat island.

Captain Pete was great, full of knowledge. It was a hot day so the boat trip and golf cart tour was very welcome as it created a nice breeze. The Island was fascinating, a step back in time.

This tour was more meaningful by going into the school where Pat Conroy taught, and hearing the stories from our guide who knew the island stories and even the residents well. Reading The Water is Wide before going to the island really enhanced the experience. I highly recommend this tour. Captain Pete was a great guide and very experienced with driving the boat, water safety, and his knowledge of the island. Ask for Captain Pete!

We were fortunate to experience Captain Pete Barbano’s historic tour of Daufuskie. The day was paced according to our interests. During the boat ride we learned about the local wildlife. On Daufuskie we had so much fun while exploring and learning about the environment, history and folklore. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to spend a day with an experienced captain and historian, it will be the highlight of your visit!

We very much enjoyed our boat ride to the Island and then our guided tour around the Island by golf cart. Captan Mickey was very knowledgable about the Island history and such a delight to lead our tour.

The boat ride on a beautiful warm day would have been enough for a great review but Captain Pete’s narration made this a highlight of our week in Hilton Head. Gullah history was presented in an interesting, respectful way…we loved it!
