This was a lot of fun for me and my kids (7 and 11). They loved hearing about the walnuts and getting to crack and eat a bunch. The guides were very nice and knowledgeable.

We did the black walnut tour on the farm. It was excellent! We enjoyed learning about the black walnut trees and why they are important to the diversity of the environment. The guide also walked through the process of harvesting the black walnuts and we ended up by actually cracking some nuts ourselves. Then we toasted the walnuts and cooked a maple glaze on them. It was informative and lots of FUN! They are also doing a lot of work with creating sustainable products from the walnuts. Some of these were available for sale. We were told there are actually some black squirrels on the property we didn’t get a chance to spot any this time. Maybe next !!
