Alex was the best. Very knowledgeable funny and he made the 12 hours go by fast. Every place we visited was beautiful. My favorite is when Alex let me use binoculars to see the volcano. Very giving with all his snacks. Made my first trip to Hawaii extremely memorable. Thanks Alex

Our guide was Brandon Williamson who was the best tour guide ever. He is well versed in botany a former teacher who knows history and facts about the island. While it was a long day (12 hours), Brandon made it fun as well as educational.

We had a wonderful tour and my family was very happy. Brandon was very knowledgeable and so kind. He took great care to show us the best of all the sites and had so many stories about Hawaii folklore to keep us interested. This was a very informative and interesting tour.

KapohoKine Adventures changed our pick-up location from our Mauna Kea resort to a location which would have taken 90 minutes and a $200 taxi fare EACH WAY due to an Iron Man competition on the island. When we asked to cancel our reservation do to their change, they informed us it was within the 24 hour non-cancellation period and they would not give us a refund even though THEY changed the terms of the tour with less than the required 24 hours. This change would have cost us 3 hours of our vacation and $400 in taxi fares rather than being picked up at our resort at no cost. DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY!!! They are only concerned about the money and not the customer.

Great tour and well worth it. They accommodated everything we needed and provided excellent information along the way!

In general, enjoyed the hike in the volcano national park. Was not thrilled with the less than accurate description of the terrain at various points. If you intend to take this tour, be prepared for extremely rocky terrain in the Hilo lava tube and on the crater portion of the hike in particular. Was advertised as a 3-4 mi in total hike - ended up being nearly 8 mi total. Be ready for it. Bring your own / extra water, as whirl it was advertised to be provided guide ran out early in the day. Dinner was ok - we were told by the guide that we could purchase other menu items beyond the pre-ordered meal but the wait staff wanted to provide no additional service - didn’t even refill our water glasses.

Our tour guide, Scott, was phenomenal! He was a fantastic storyteller and had great tips on what to see, how to get the best pictures, etc. He was well known and well liked at the various stops, too. One of the best tours we’ve ever taken!

Jacklyn was so great. Good driver, very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. She took us to places we may not have known about on our own. We came to the big Island because of the volcanoes, and we were happy we took the tour. Very organized. We got calls and texts to order food, remind us of the tour and text tickets. Picked up at our resort on time. We got to see many places we may not have seen. We were happy to visit the black sand beach, we even got to see a turtle. Highly recommend.

We did the evening volcano tour a couple of days ago. The weather didn’t really cooperate, but still had a great time. Adam was a great guide: funny, very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and mythology. Visited a coffee farm, black sand beach to see the green turtles, and the Volcano National Park. Would highly recommend their tours. Hopefully you’ll have better weather.
