I did a solo hike in Boulder with Carly and it was so great! She was prompt, knowledgable about the trail and was prepared for emergencies. She was very friendly and even lent me her hat because I forgot to bring one. She also provided hiking sticks which was helpful. The views were incredible and company was fun! I would highly recommend her company if you are visiting the Boulder/Golden area. Thank you again, Carly. Oh and the pastries were divine!

Amazing! Carly and her crew did an excellent job of guiding the three of us "old folks" (ages 73, 77 and 80) on a 5.5 mile hike to Gray Jay campground over the East Inlet Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. This was a 3-day experience. The first day we climbed 1200 feet nd set up camp. The second day we hiked 6 miles to two nearby lakes, Lone Pine and Lake Verna. The last day we left early to catch our flights out of Denver. As it was, Carly's timing was perfect and we arrived at the trailhead with time to spare. This was my first backpacking trip in 20 years, and even with a fairly light load of 25lbs, it wasn't easy, probably due to my age (80). Honestly, the best part of the experience was getting to know Carly, the CEO and founder of RMHC, and, to a lesser extent, the other two guides, Suzanne, and Adam. Carly struck the right balance between a motherly concern for her charges (we can carry your tent/bear can/pack) and honoring our freedom to be the ones making that decision. She took my 5-lb container of food early on, which helped, and when we reached the last and most strenuous mile and developed a muscle spasm, she offered to have another guide take my pack, for the last 3/4 mile. This time, I agreed. Now here's the impressive part: knowing the difficulty of that last mile, she had already sent Suzanne ahead to dump her pack and come back to help anyone in need of assistance. The only suggestion I'd have for others is to bring your own snacks (granola bars and the like). Individual tastes vary widely in this area, and the ones provided were not those I'd normally eat. Of course, after such an exhausting hike, food will be your least concern. Carly did an excellent job of preparing for our adventure, and in conducting it. When a lightning storm appeared overhead, she moved us to a protected location ("just to be on the safe side"). I expect with her intelligence and skills, her newly-found company will continue to grow. It was the first time I've ever been on a guided hike, and I'd do it again in a flash.

Highly recommend Rocky Mountain Hiking Company! Carly was an awesome guide - her passion for the outdoors is incredible. She is fun to be around, loves what she does, and is very enthusiastic about her new and growing hiking company. She works well with whatever pace and level of expertise her hikers find most comfortable. We enjoyed a beautiful and memorable hike at Mount Falcon Park in CO. No stones left unturned - Carly took care of all the details! Am anxious to return for one of her fabulous 'pastry hikes' on my next trip to Colorful CO - and may even indulge in one of her CA hikes in the future..

My hikes with Carly and Rocky Mnt Hiking Co in the mountains outside of Denver were so fantastic! I am not a seasoned hiker but Carly provided all info needed to have the right supplies for maximum comfort and safety. She is so encouraging that I was able to hike all the way to the Fire Tower for fantastic views. My experience with RMHC gave me the spark and energy to go on hiking more at home and on my travels. I highly recommend them for any level of hiking! Even beginners like me. Thank you Carly!
