I was lukewarm to whitewater rafting with the family, but Chugach made it a great experience. It’s a lot to take in, but they stepped us through it and I really enjoyed the rapids and the scenery. James had some amazing skills as a boat captain which was MUCH appreciated!

This was the most spectacular whitewater rafting I have done! Our guide James was a rock star and a lot of fun! The views are amazing and the rapids are awesome! The canyons get progressively more technical. So glad my crew did the third canyon! It was an awesome experience! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Great informative team who gave clear instructions. This was the best rafting trip I've been on. All the employees were well experienced and their demeanor and ability to keep it fun and safe was reassuring. Our guide James was surgical with the rapids. Highly highly highly recommend this raft company! You cant go wrong with them.

Great guides who were very safety conscious and professional. Make sure you wear layers appropriately. Running all three canyons is a must!

Amazing experience and probably, dollar for dollar, my favorite excursion yet...and I've done most. You must do the three canyon trip. Absolutely thrilling. Don't be scared. The guides are very professional and you are in good hands. I tip my hat to James, our guide. While some seem to have an attitude and almost lecture you like a child at any miststep, James was the perfect guide. He showed patience as well as knowledge, all the while showing you respect as a paying customer. Couldn't be more professional. Ok...the swim. It's tough...no doubt. You have to swim across a swift river in 40 deg water with a dry suit, then float downstream about 100 yards and then get dragged onto a raft by your collar. Then...you have to pull someone else out of the water by their collar. I'm 58 and in good shape and I was breathing very hard by the time I hit the raft. All though I completely why this test is necessary, they never mentioned this when I signed up. Even though I still would have done it, they should be clear about the difficulty of this to everyone before taking your money. Anyway...the bottom line is that it was a first class excursion and I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for a WW trip.

We had a large party of 11 people do 6 mile creek rafting through all 3 canyons. Our experience was amazing, definitely the highlight of our trip. Our guides were very experienced, fun, and made us feel very safe. There were also extensive safety instructions, helping us to feel more prepared for the class five rapids. Highly recommend for anyone seeking adventure.

The raft flipped and the guide blamed us. Still fun but a bit scary. Beautiful river, mountains and scenery.

We did the three canyon run. Not our fist time white water rafting but definately the most challenging and most difficult. Safety is a prime concern. There was just enough calm water between the rapids to make it a very pleasant trip, and always something just around the bend.

Fantastic experience! We have only done a little white water rafting, but we had a fantastic guide and so many safety measures in place that we always felt safe. It was exciting and so fun. And the scenery is just gorgeous, too. I also appreciate that the shuttle rides were 15 minutes or less, both ways. Definitely wear the thermals that they recommend, and we popped into the hot tub after for a great finish.

Well that was an experience!! We have been rafting in many places over the world and in the U.S., including doing a 7m waterfall in New Zealand. Nothing we have done matched the intensity of this tour! Both of us feel comfortable rafting and in the water. We have been trained on rafting rescue. We have never flipped, much less fallen out of a raft. I knew this tour would be different so I felt apprehension despite our experiences. The safety talk before the raft was the most comprehensive briefing we heard, but it also inspired so much confidence in the guides - they are very well trained and know what to do to keep your safe. There was a guide, Tommy, whose purpose was to row along your rafts in the canyons and rescue anyone who fell out if needed (Spoilers! He rescued my husband). They super prepare you for how to rescue yourself if you fall out and I felt perfectly safe with the guides. The swim test is a bit daunting but you are well prepared for it and is a good measure to help you know what you are capable of. For example, I was fine for the first part of the test but had to be rope rescued (which was actually quite fun) for the second part where you need to swim to the raft. Based on that I knew the third canyon was probably not a good fit. However, I had so much fun with the first two canyons which were the most intense of my life. We flipped all the way at the end of the second raft. Our guide Greg got the raft flipped back and us inside in no time. I came out smiling but had enough thrills for the day and sat out the third canyon. The option to decide to skip the last canyon and get refunded is so appreciated because you can really focus on safety / knowing your limits without feeling pressure. The company understands that the point of this tour is to have fun and stay safe and not to put yourself in a situation you are not comfortable with. My husband continued to the third canyon. He fell out two more times and came back with only one shoe. He was also beaming having had the time of his life! This was hands down one of his favorite tours. Big shout out to Dawn from the office who was wonderful to communicate with, our fearless guide Greg, and to Tommy. It was privilege rafting with this company. I would love to come back some day and tackle that third canyon!
