This was a FANTASTIC tour, I truly cannot recommend it enough. Our guide Chris was very knowledgable and engaging, and I really appreciate how he touched on the complicated past of New Orleans, both in terms of food and the history of the city itself. I was not able to look at some of the beautiful buildings in the French Quarter the same way after he pointed out how the small buildings in the courtyards are the remaining structures of enslaved quarters. He also touched on the role calas played in helping enslaved women earn money to purchase their freedom. On our tour, we had praline butter cookies, calas, alligator sausage, a shrimp po'boy, ya ya gumbo, fried oysters and pralines (the candy). The servings sizes were just right, I was full by the end of the tour but able to enjoy everything. At a couple of the restaurants, we also had an option to buy alcoholic beverages, although water was also always provided. As for the walking itself, we did walk a pretty considerable amount, so wear a comfortable pair of shoes. If you are going to do a walking tour in New Orleans, it should be THIS one!

Kristi was great. Knowledge, funny, personable and kind. I would recommend doing this tour as soon as you get to town. It’s a nice overview of the city with a bit of history mixed it.

Our tour guide Russell was very very informative. I know it’s a food tour but I loved hearing the history of the area as well, like explaining the difference between being Creole and creole food. Also little snippets about Walt Disney, how po’boy sandwich came to be and interesting stories about some historical buildings. We sampled shrimp po’boy sandwich, duck and sausage gumbo and boudin. We did get to enjoy delicious beignets and another dessert that was made with rice (can’t remember the name). All-in-all it was a great experience!

Had a great time on the New Orleans food tour with Susan. She was very knowledgeable and fun and kept us out of direct sunlight and then out of the rain!

The tour was cancelled. Weather was terrible and they said we arrived late (3:02) so they decided to cancel it. We rushed to get there tried to blame weather, but it was already raining very bad leading up to the actual tour time and no one informed us that it was going to be cancelled until we arrived. The positive: they will refund 100% even though we had to ask for that to happen.

Russell answered all of our questions with enthusiasm. Each restaurant we went to was very accommodating, and the service was excellent. It was a great experience.
