The Good: Our tour was perfectly sized, four patrons and the guide. (We learned that tour groups can range from two to seventeen). We were able to experience different chocolates, in solid and liquid forms, from various parts of the world. Most of the tour took place around Pike’s Market. We did not know that Seattle had so many options to suit a chocolate lovers palatte! For someone who loves chocolate, this would be a fun tour. Chocolate tastings from France, Columbia, Mexico and the U.S. awaits you. The Bad: The tour naturally is walked. If someone in your party has difficulty walking up or down the hills, you may want to consider renting a scooter, but otherwise, the walk is pleasant and easily done. Additionally, I would recommend bringing a bottle of water with you on the trip. Our tour did not include a lot of water stops. Also, I would recommend bringing a little bag of oyster crackers to help cleanse your palette. After a while, the chocolate can begin to taste the same. The Ugly: The tour’s price was a bit high for the value we received, in my opinion. I was expecting more commentary on how the different regions produced the chocolate and what differentiated the chocolate. Additionally, most of the tastings were free samples, which one could argue that the knowledge is knowing where to go to get the free samples. Overall, the tour was a once in a lifetime event. It is good if you love chocolate and want to experience Seattle’s chocolate diversity.

It really was a fun tour and we loved all the samples. Great information on the tour. Wear good walking shoes. We even took my ninety four year old mother in law in a wheelchair. Some of the cobble stone streets are bumpy, but she handled it like a champ quick.

Will was great and knowledgeable. I experienced several places I would not have otherwise found. If you want to learn more about chocolate and experience it in different ways then I recommend you try this tour.

Having a purpose to walk around the Market. Learning the stories about each shop. Just the right amount of chocolate tasting. Not overwhelming.

Will was an excellent guide. He was animated, pleasant and knowledgeable. The chocolate tasing experiences were much more than having a bite of chocolate. Liquid, in gluten free pastries, fine chocolate candy.

Will, our tour guide, did an excellent job guiding us through a chocolate tasting tour. We had all types of chocolates from dark to white to mild to spicy. He was very very knowledgeable on the shops, processes the shops used, the chemistry, the inside information about sourcing and in general very fun to be with. The tour is a lot of walking in hilly Seattle, the pace is not fast though. We felt we could enjoy each stop really well. There were about six places we tried. This is also a chocolate tasting tour, not a tour on shops making chocolate. So bring some appetite and willingness to try a lot of different types of chocolates.
