Your Itinerary

Mammoth Hot Springs

Your guide will meet you with hot drinks and baked goods. You'll travel through Mammoth toward Lamar Valley, stopping at various points along the way to watch wildlife. Their location constantly changes, so we will target their habitats and areas of recent sightings. We often see wolves and grizzly bears between Mammoth and Lamar Valley.

Little America

As we travel to and from Lamar Valley, we will check several locations for potential sightings of bison, elk, coyote, bighorn sheep, moose, fox, grizzly and black bears. If there is time and interest we may take a short walk or hike to explore this area away from the road.

Lamar Valley

As we travel across Yellowstone's Northern Range, arriving in Lamar Valley is always spectacular. This valley is home to a proliferation of wildlife in the summer. In winter, we'll often see coyotes stalking prey, bison grazing, and stunning views.

Tower Fall

Our wildlife watching excursions are dynamic and vary by the day and the season, depending on what the wildlife are up to, and what the road conditions are. In spring, summer and fall, we often access wildlife habitats between Tower Junction and Tower Falls. This area is particularly rich in May, June and July. We often see black bears, bighorn sheep, osprey and peregrine falcons in this scenic, geologically complex area. In winter, we cross country ski here.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Hannah was an excellent guide answering any questions i had. Wolf and Grizzly sighting were the highlights.

Wonderful experience. We kept our expectations low as wildlife is not something you can predict but were rewarded by the knowledge of Hannah who was able to show us everything we wanted to see: Wolves, bear, a red dog (baby bison!), etc.. In addition to showing us areas of the park we would have missed. I 100% recommend their service

I came across In our Nature Guiding Services when researching our March trip to Yellowstone and I'm so glad I did! Cara and her staff were super helpful with planning, answering questions and generally giving me comfort that the logistics were going to work. Once we arrived in Gardiner, our guide, Hannah, really delivered above and beyond. She picked us up at "zero dark hundred" with warm drinks and goodies for our day of wildlife watching. Within 45 minutes in the park, we saw our first wolf and it was moving beyond words. Hannah was patient with our questions, incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the park's wildlife and had the right balance of letting us "discover" while also teaching us. She made a point to connect with my 14 year old grandson and find out a bit about him and his interest in wildlife. In Our Nature provided binoculars and set-up zoom telescopes at each stop which allowed us to get up close and personal to animals while at a distance. After seeing most of the large animals we wanted to see on day one (wolves, bison, moose, bighorn sheet and coyotes), Hannah made sure we saw smaller (yet interesting) wildlife and birds on day two including bald eagles, golden eagles and a little fascinating bird called a "dipper." I could not have asked for a better 48 hours from In Our Nature Guiding Services and have already started planning my next trip with other family members. I highly recommend In Our Nature Guiding Services.

This is an outstanding tour of Yellowstone! We saw so much wildlife: 2 packs of wolves, moose, a fox, a coyote, elk, bison, owls and a mountain lion eating a mountain goat it had killed. It was an unforgettable made so special by Cara's vast knowledge of the animals and the entire Yellowstone ecosystem. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a richer, memorable Yellowstone experience.

Our wildlife tour with Elizabeth from In Our Nature was the highlight of our vacation in Yellowstone. She picked us up early on a frosty morning and drove us to the Lamar Valley to see herds of bison, pronghorns, young big horn sheep and, yes, wolves! All the while she gave us expert background on all that we were seeing whether it was the animals, the landscape, the history--you name it. She also patiently answered our many questions. She knew where to go and handled all the driving in the company's comfortable van. She was great at quickly setting up the high quality spotting scope to make sure we didn't miss a thing. Our job was just to see and learn, an incredible luxury for us. On top of that she pampered us with tasty snacks, lunch and coffee/tea (it was cool in September!). It was non-stop for the 6+ hours we spent with Elizabeth and worth every penny. It was ten times better than anything we could have done on our own. We also liked that In Our Nature is a woman-owned and local business. We will, for sure, use In Our Nature when we get back to Yellowstone.

We had the most amazing experience with Hannah as our guide… she is very knowledgeable, fun and easy to talk to. We learned so much about the park and the wildlife that call Yellowstone their home. Her respect for the animals was obvious. We saw so many animals that we would had never spotted on our own.. wolves, pronghorn, grizzly, mountain goats and more. This turned out to be our favorite day in the park and when we return we will definitely book another tour!

Our family of 11 had an excellent experience grizzly bear viewing with Hannah and Klara. Both passionate and knowledgeable, we learned a lot. They knew when we should be at various sites for the best (and no crowds!) experience and did an excellent job accommodating various ages and interests. It was a special day for our entire family ranging from 23-80.

We visited Yellowstone early August 2023 & booked the private wildlife viewing tour. Hannah was our guide & she was terrific. She was friendly, full if interesting information, and obviously passionate about the park & it’s wildlife. We even got to see a wolf pup!

Our family of 4 had an amazing tour day with our guide Ben. Our day was spent looking for wildlife. Ben was very knowledge, explained so much to us all about each animal, the history of Yellowstone and was able to answer any question we threw his way. He was great with our kids too, ages 12 and 9. He was able to help us view so many different animals but the most special was the grizzly bear and cub watching. We really appreciated all the videos and photos we received that he was able to capture with his scope and camera. What an unforgettable experience that we will never forget. Highly recommend this company. Communication from the beginning was great, no issues, professional company/guide.
