Aireville Park

(Pass by)

Aireville Park is a large open space with sporting facilities and play areas in the heart of Skipton. It dates back to the 1830s when it was created by Henry Allcock as part of the Aireville Estate. Upon his death, wealthy Skipton mill owners, the Dewhurst family, purchased the estate and Aireville Hall.

Staff friendly, views were stunning and our captain navigated the ship with consummate skill. To have the brilliant comedian Dave Spikey actually on board giving us an hilarious running commentary was just the cats Meow. Our fellow shipmates made the whole experience truly wonderful. Land ahoy came too soon.

Lovely canal boat trip. Captain was very informative and had great humour. Beautiful views on the canal. Boat was clean and well organised.

We booked on line and Had a lovely 1 hour trip on one of the canal boats you can pay on the day and you are seated by numbers on your ticket so there was no need to rush just make sure your there 15 min early the Dave spikey talk was so funny all the staff were very friendly really enjoyed it.Thank you

Family trip with kids aged 8 and 12 during Easter hols. All families were seated on benches with consecutive numbers but were diagonally opposite due to the way row numbers worked. Frustrating! The commentary by some famous guy was not very engaging and you had to have that sense of humour to get it. The kids were bored so for £30+, it would have been more enjoyable to walk, even in the rain. Wouldn't really recommend, sorry!

Comfy seats and drinks available. The river cruise was relaxing and the tour guide was really informative and funny, we enjoyed our trip.

Went in the holidays with kids and friends. It was a beautiful cruise and host was funny lol ot did start raining towards the end but we were inside the boat so it didn't bother us. More of an adult activity. Kids these days find sitting boring. Nice view on the way

Feel a bit mean writing this ... but we weren't impressed with this trip at all. The boat is comfortable and the windows give unrestricted views. The views? Not sure what we were expecting but it was mostly nothing remarkable and we had no choice but to listen to the recorded commentary played for way too long - some of it, granted, was amusing but after a while it started to get a little annoying. The boat made it's way up the canal and then moored up for about 15 minutes to allow other craft through the open swing bridge. Once through the swing bridge, it turned round and headed back. We couldn't wait to get off. We wish we had chosen to talk a walk along the canal bank instead.
