My group took a tour of parts of the Berlin wall starting with the historical area where the gates were first opened on November 1989. Our guide was Katrin who grew up in East Berlin before the wall was taken down. She provided a wonderful and informative tour of the historical areas of the wall. It was especially good to hear her description of life at that time. The tour helped give me perspective and information on why the wall was built and why it eventually came down. A fascinating story.

The tour from Bornholmer Bridge following where the wall ran towards Bernauer Strasse was excellent. Katrin (a former citizen of the DDR) was very informative and knowledgeable. It was a wet & cold day however Katrin kept our interest with many facts, antidotes and experiences during a fascinating period of German history. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable tour of the Berlin Wall from Katrin- a very engaging and informative tour gude who shared her insight with us from her first hand experience of the Berlin wall. Katrin is passionate about the subject and she was able to recount many interesting stories along the way making it a very personable experience and one we would highly recommend. A definite 'must do' if your visiting Berlin.

Macht weiter so !
