It was a very relaxing cruise on an 115 year old ketch made from Huon pine. After visiting Tasmania and learning about the amazing ancient Huon pine forests I was always interested in doing a tour on one of these vessels made from this timber. The crew are very warm, welcoming. The food was delicious as were the local cocktails . Presentation, the numerous courses and taste which represented some local and indigenous ingredients had great flavour Auntie Bridget’s sharing of her indigenous knowledge was very appreciated and love of the local country was obvious as she explained how she comes from the oldest family in that area . On the return journey the captain also played the didgeridoo and this added greatly to the whole indigenous experience. I also love the Saltwater eco tour logo of the turtle and could not resist buying one of the t shirts.

Everything about this cruise was excellent. The bush tucker food served throughout the cruise was outstanding- it would be at home in a fancy hatted restaurant. Aunty Bridget was so friendly and interesting talking about her family’s unbroken link to the area over tens of thousands of years with many personal stories and explanations of cultural practices relating to specific spots. The crew were also great. A unique experience.

An enriching way to spend two hours on the river learning from Aunty about her people's deep and ongoing connection with the land and waters. The food was beautiful, especially the oyster and prawns. It was a privilege to do the bush tucker tour. Practical reconciliation at its best. Looking forward to doing the sunset tour at some stage.

We enjoyed the waterways of Mooloolah River and Simon was a great skipper with a lot of knowledge of the area, finishing off with a tune on the didgeridoo! The food and drinks was amazing. We highly recommend a tour. It’s the second time for me as I’ve done a sunset cruise too!
