Could have been great but weather did not cooperate. It was very choppy, and the water was not clear and was chilly so visibility was bad in the water. And if you were prone to seasickness, it was bad. One person did throw up. They probably should have cancelled the trip and refunded money or rescheduled.

We booked onto the afternoon sunset half day sail and it was perfect. The crew were extremely generous with their time and assistance. I’m a novice at snorkeling and because of their experience, I loved it! I brought a bag of stuff with me thinking I would be loitering on a beach filling in time - not the case at all, an hour in the warm water following the guide spotting sea turtles, a reef shark and plenty of fish, a walk around the island and then back on board for a generous offering of afternoon tea and many rounds of beverages. Highly recommend it. Thank you

The staff were great, professional and helpful. However, the food was average tbh and the snorkelling was a half star at best and that is being nice. Being a professional company they should have warned us and the other custoners that the visbility has been poor. We hardly saw any coral and the coral we did see was sun bleached, a few fish when they were in front of our goggles. The visibility was terrible, seriously, anything further than 2 metres away from you, was just a blur. They talked about how many turtles we would come across and no one saw anything that remotely looked like a turtle. For the 6 of us in our group, we spent over $1,000.00 and have not stopped talking about how ordinary the snorkelling experience was with Sailaway. Just very disappointed and feel as though we have been dudded. Very disappointed

Overall we were disappointed in this trip, especially for the price you pay! Spoke to a lady on the phone who sold us the dream, but more importantly mislead us. She said it was a small group of 6 people, turned out to be 20+. “Gourmet Food”, in reality, soggy wraps, party pies and rock hard scones. We were also told on the phone we’d have multiple hours of snorkelling, 1 hour is all we had. We’ve been on much better trips for less money, these were all day as well! 2 stars given for the crews knowledge on board and their friendly attitude. Please don’t book through this company, spend your money more wisely. Andy Bird.

Lovely afternoon sailing to Low Island. Snorkelling was great , Bill and Maura were knowledgeable and friendly. The food was very good, drinks flowed (after snorkelling of course!) and on Low Island we saw at least a dozen Black Fin Sharks create a bait ball. Amazing! Lovely cruise back as the sun set. Perfect!

We had a great afternoon with Jeremy and Jake. Good company, tasty food, clear instruction and fascinating facts made perfect with calm seas and fine weather.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon and sunset cruise. The crew were great, the food was plentiful and delicious. Drinks after snorkeling. The snorkeling is about 45 mins and the Low Isles is not as beautiful as other spots much further out. Having said that, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We went on this tour as part of our stay in Port Douglas The experience was excellent with every single member of the team really looking after us The trip starts with a light lunch and soft drink and then you sail to the low isles. The owner had joined our trip as he wanted to test his new electric boat which was a really impressive piece of equipment and he was really interesting and helpful on the trip. Once at the low isles we went snorkelling with all the equipment provided by Sailaway. We then went on a tour of the island itself. The light house etc all hosted by a volunteer ranger Lily. After snorkling we then had some more food and a few beers as we sailed back under sunset to the dock. Everything was managed really well by the crew and Liz the deck hand doesn’t stop working the entire time! They take you snorkling in 2 groups depending on experience and confidence and each group has a guide. You can also stay on the glass bottom boat if you don’t wish to snorkle. There’s lots of this type of trip available in port Douglas but I would 100% recommend using this company, you really get looked after at all stages.

Amazing trip -great commentary and guidance from the team . So lucky to be able to snorkel and see the beautiful fish and coral on the reef . Interesting short walk round the Island with great information on the wildlife and habitat

We were most fortunate to have a perfect day and only eight of us onboard as it gave our crew, Sean and Liz, the opportunity to interact with each of us and give us individual attention as needed. The snorkeling was as enjoyable as promised, thanks to Liz’s commentary and support. My wife had decided against snorkeling but was encouraged by our Captain, Sean, to suit up, after which he joined her in the water and pointed out things in the GBR to view through her mask. We would not recommend the glass bottom boat (just a narrow viewing area) as an alteration snorkeling.
