This is a must do if you stop by in Fairbanks. The musher and team was very friendly. As an Arizonian who never sees the snow, the dogs were amazing to see in action.

It was incredibly beautiful. The guide gave us an interesting tour. And the dogs were so cute and friendly.

Trail Breaker Kennels …all the way! Amazing journey across miles of open space with dogs trained to run the Iditarod and ones being trained for this race. Our experience began with a phone cell to Tekla to see if we could arrange a tour on a specific day for two (when only one slot was available). Tekla made it happen and secured the twilight tour for us. When we arrived, we were greeted by Ida, who made sure we had all the proper gear to stay warm and comfortable, so that we could enjoy the ride. Our musher was Elena, who was soft spoken and knowledgeable and showed us how much she loved working with the dogs and training with them. Four miles and 40 minutes later, we returned to the main building all frosty, cold and exhilarated. What an experience. Lots of opportunities to ask questions, pet the dogs and enjoy the terrain. Absolutely AMAZING!

This place includes: -🧣Warm gears including toe warmers and hot packs 🧤 - ☕ Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate🍵 - 🐶 Feeding and petting Alaskan Huskies after sledding🍖 - 📷 Great photos taken by the musher during the break 🖼️ Staff were friendly and efficient. Dogs were absolutely adorable and strong. We had amazing views for the 12pm sledding. This is a must activity in Fairbanks so you would want to do with the right company and this place is the one!

The experience of dog sledding was one of the top 10 things I have done in my life. This kennel/dogs were well treated were friendly and energetic. Katrina took me on my adventure, and I am looking forward to hearing her name in the upcoming Iditarod race. I was warm as toast in -20° weather as I was bundled up in snow pants, blankets, handwarmers, and masks. Don’t miss out on this fabulous experience.

It was very short. I paid for an hour and barely got 40 minutes. If i would have paid for 30 minutes would i have gotten 15? How much time do you really need to pet the dogs?

Everyone was incredibly kind and genuine. You could see the true love for the dogs and how passionate the staff was. The tour was beautiful, educational and worth the experience. I’ll return one day

Katrina, our dog musher, gave an informative introduction on mushing, the Iditarod, her dogs, and her love for the sport, which I really enjoyed. I enjoyed the smooth ride, being pulled on the sled by her dogs through the trail and over the Chena river and lake. Beautiful views, beautiful dogs! Staff at the kennel, Gabe and musher Miguel, were very friendly and helpful as well.
