Bastille

Behind the Place de la Bastille in the 12th arrondissement, slumbers a completely different Paris with its share of secrets. Cabinetmakers and carpenters were once legion along the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. Their vestiges are striking such as multiple interior courtyards. We would almost forget that we are in Paris. An old railway line transformed into a park becomes the perfect vantage point to discover a different perspective of the Quartier. The Arsenal and the Marché d'Aligre complete the district, making it perfect for taking photographs during a stroll.

18th Arr. - Buttes-Montmartre

The small streets of Montmartre are the most famous. A favorite area for artists and troublemakers, the Butte is overlooked by the Sacré Cœur. But the place has so much more to offer than the view of Paris. Discover the old houses with wooden shutters, the winding alleys with cobbled streets. Climb the peaceful staircase discovering the details of this bohemian neighborhood. From secret gardens to the cemetery hidden under a bridge, Montmartre is an ideal playground for photographers.

Canal Saint-Martin

From the Place de la République to the Buttes-Chaumont via the Hills of Belleville, the Canal Districts exude a Bon Chic Bon Genre soul. Charming footbridges span the Canal Saint Martin flanked by its rows of trees, Parisians bask near the water, an ideal place for any photographer. With a long lens, it will even be possible to photograph Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower from the Quartier Haut with all its curiosities.

Quartier Latin

In the center of Paris sits the Latin Quarter. Perfect for admiring the crowds of the Jardin du Luxembourg and the view of the Pantheon is magnificent. But the magic of this District is essentially based on its hidden alleys and its intersections ready to be discovered! Nowhere else will you be able to contemplate the Arènes de Lutèce a stone's throw from the modern architecture of the Institut du Monde Arabe.

Olympiades

The Italy XIII housing project was started in the 1960s and was designed to regenerate the idea of urban development in Paris. Known for its brutalist architecture and thriving Chinatown, the area surrounding the Olympiads is a unique neighborhood in Paris, not found elsewhere in the capital.

This workshop was great! I had Clara as my guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly and patient with me, which I really appreciated as a beginner to photography. She has a true passion for photography and that has inspired me to find my own style. Truly a wonderful learning experience. This is a great workshop for beginners wanting to get of auto and start using manual.

Clara has huge fans in NYC!! When I found out Clara was going to be our guide, I read some of her publications and was excited to learn from this pro because she likes to travel the unbeaten path and has a sharp eye for the authentic side of Paris. When we met her she got to know about our goals and interests. We shared that we really wanted to learn all the technical things and she not only made things easy to grasp, she made them fun. Clara is kind and patient. Just the best!! We learned about photography, Parisian culture & history and so much more. My only regret was booking on our last day in Paris. I would’ve definitely booked additional workshops with her. She even told us about the cool Normandy trip/tour. Adding that to the bucket list. Thanks Clara!!

Such a perfect afternoon with Julia. She is encouraging, kind and very knowledgeable. It felt like I was in Paris with a long time friend ❤️. We walked through beautiful local areas in the Latin Quarter and spent time capturing photos in ways that were unique plus I have new camera skills to use forever. I’m inspired and so grateful 😊. Thank you Julia!

Spent a three hour walking tour at night with Federica tutoring me on techniques in night photography. She took me to a variety of sites for photos ….ranging from the typical to some really interesting back streets. This was a wonderful and educational tour

For anyone interested in photography, whether you’re a beginner or advanced hobbyist, I’d highly recommend this tour! My guide, Clara, helped create a tour hitting all the highlights. She went at my speed, offering tips and tricks along the way. I had two tours – the Night Photography and Street Photography, and I’d highly recommend both! She was an excellent tour guide, and so glad that I booked this tour to capture some of the beauty of Paris! Thank you for a wonderful experience, Clara!

Had an excellent one on one night tour with Clara last week. As we met on the Pond Marie, she clearly asked me what I wanted to accomplish for the evening. Thus informed, she designed a session for me. With her photography background and knowledge, we visited sites where I could capture some more unique Paris scenes and explore using some time lapse/long exposure techniques. Her guidance on camera settings, positioning, and composition were most helpful. I feel I captured some great images and look forward to post processing them further.

Aperture Tours did it again. Phenominal experience. Learned a ton. Alexander was very informative. Information you can use and repeat later! :) He's quite pasisonate about photography. He helped me get some great photos. This was my third tour with Aperature, past was in Sydney and Singpaore. They have a high standard. You'll not be disappointed with photos or expeience.

I went on 2 tours with Clara during my week in Paris: an afternoon tour of Montmartre and a night tour of Paris. Clara is a talented photographer and an excellent teacher. She helped me with my camera settings, taught me how to photograph in different lighting conditions and worked with me on composition. I am so pleased with the photographs I took with her guidance. On top of all that, she is a joy to spend time with. The time I spent with her was definitely the highlight of my time in Paris! If I am ever back in Paris, I will be sure to book another photo tour with Clara.

We went on a night photography tour with Julia and loved seeing Paris in a different light! Julia was excellent company and showed us many different spots to get great photos of Paris. We shot bridges, buildings, people on the street and of course the Eiffel Tower. I shot with my Nikon DSLR and my husband had his iPhone X. Julia was able to give us pointers based on our different cameras, and we both walked away with some favorite photos. Communication from the company was great, as we knew exactly where to meet. While meeting spots should be a no brainer, we had trouble with other tour companies in Paris, so it was nice to have these details worked out. I’d highly recommend booking a tour with Aperture Tours!
