Tour director provided a very informative tour in a conversational style. Host was very kind and the meal was excellent. It was well worth the cost and would definitely recommend.

Food was fantastic but I would have liked to actually talk to the residents, only the people who sat next to them were able to converse wirh them.

The tour guide provided lots of information in a short time. Great presentation! The dinner was fantastic, both authentic and extremely tasty. The one negative: more stops to take photos out the van windows, and I realize this is easier said than done.

I had a deeply unsettling experience with Lokal Experiences during two scheduled back-to-back tours, starting with the "Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish" followed by the "Unique Amish Immersion in Lancaster," both led by a guide named Sandy. Despite the tours’ promising descriptions, our experience was marred by unprofessionalism and insensitivity, particularly towards families with children. During the first tour, while crossing a bridge, Sandy made an inappropriate comment about sneaking in a kiss if you're with a partner, which was not suitable given the presence of young children, including my own 10-year-old who became visibly upset. Furthermore, Sandy exhibited a cold demeanor throughout. She bluntly told me to keep my children occupied with electronic devices because "other clients are paying customers" — as though my family and I were not. This dismissive attitude not only made me feel judged as a parent but also left me in tears. It seemed as if our presence was an inconvenience, rather than a part of a group equally entitled to enjoy the tour. After such a disappointing experience on the first tour, we chose not to proceed with the second tour scheduled for the same day. Despite not attending the "Unique Amish Immersion in Lancaster," the company refused to refund this part of our booking, further compounding our disappointment and frustration. This experience does not reflect the respectful and engaging cultural representation one would expect from a service claiming to offer authentic insights into Amish culture. I strongly advise against booking with this company, especially for those traveling with children. Their approach appears profit-driven at the expense of genuine hospitality and respect for all customers.

Our guide Jaime was great. He was totally knowledgeable about the history of the Amish. He was personable and made the trip a great experience. The host family and their children were great. Food was amazing. We all had a great time. My grandkids totally enjoyed the experience

We enjoyed chatting with Linda and her family. Had a lovely meal and the other couple in our group was delightful!

Our guide Mike was most knowledgeable about the Amish & Mennonite history and way of life. The van was comfortable and clean. The scenery was beautiful. Our host family, the Beilers, were very friendly, welcoming, and open to questions and conversation. The meal and dessert was plentiful and very delicious. It was truly a wonderful tour and experience. My only complaint is that tickets through Viator were $10 higher than if purchased from the Get Our Guide site. Not cool.

Dale did an absolutely incredible job bringing the history of the region to life for us. Explaining the history from its roots in Europe through the settlements here with must additional Pennsylvania history. The meal with Sarah was exquisite... home cooked finery at its best... chicken, meatloaf, potatoes and on and on. Each dish prepared to guarantee to make you want to come beck for more. The tour in its entirety was definitely one of the highlights of our trip...we highly recommend it.
