Five of us had started walking during Covid restrictions, both for exercise and fresh air. We looked at our local mountain, Maroma and decided to reach for the top. We couldn't have asked for a better guide in Onne. I have walked in groups led by his father and Onne is simply a younger version. So calm, considerate and extremely knowledgeable. We had no concerns about following him over rough ground with steep drops and his quiet encouragement ensured that we all reached the top. A memorable experience and such a pleasure to have Onne as our our guide.

Competa Walking Festival is 4 days of wonderful walking in the amazing surroundings of Competa, in the friendly company of an international crowd (many come back year after year). This was the 8th Festival and, despite Covid, was a great success enjoyed by all. We walked our socks off in a variety of beautiful landscapes, and were rewarded on the last day with a delicious buffet at Hotel Balcon in Competa and a medal for everyone (whether 2-legged or 4-legged) who completed 4 days' walking. And all for just 20 Euros - incredible! Big thanks to Joost and the team!

My third time on the Mountain Walking Festival and certainly the best, the walks this year sorted quite a few out and over 50% moved to the easier option. I had an un-planned rest day on Saturday as my car would not start in Nerja, but on Sunday Joost kindly gave me a medal and a gpx file. Monday morning I rose before dawn and soloed the Saturday route messaging Joost at my start and finish. I am so glad I got to do this route, it was not the longest or hardest but the views were absolutely stunning. These walks are quite tough, the sun and mountains combined to make 7hrs of walking a good challenge for anyone but there is the option of moving to the easier route next day but I suspect they are far from easy and a worth challenge in themselves. Had some good conversation on the walks, great bunch of people, all mountain lovers. I will return for another great week next year (we'll you have to do a few training walks first) I must say thank you to Joost, his son and Mary-Rose, to stage this walking festival when so many other events were being cancelled was a challenge in itself, I felt very safe at all times and we respected the locals if we passed through any village, I did miss the hugs and hand shakes at the end though, elbow bumps are not the same!

De 8 daagse reis naar Cómpeta is een absolute aanrader. We hebben een heerlijke wandelvakantie gehad. Het appartement met uitzicht op bergen en zee was super netjes en centraal gelegen, met een enorm terras. Cómpeta zelf is van alle gemakken voorzien en erg gezellig. Onze gids/reisleider Onne heeft alles prima verzorgd en is zeer goed thuis in het gebied. Hij denkt mee, is attent, flexibel en super aardig en behulpzaam. Elke morgen een uitstekend ontbijt en 's avonds lekker eten in steeds een ander restaurantje (hoogtepunt: de paella). Af en toe pittige klimpartijen, maar dat was het waard! Afwisselende wandelingen in een prachtige omgeving met fantastische vergezichten.

Werkelijk een topweek gehad. Prachtige wandelingen gemaakt met als gids Onne Schepel. Appartement met ruime kamers, netjes, alle benodigdheden aanwezig, zoals zelfs een wasmachine. Heerlijk terras met mooi uitzicht. Onne heeft goed voor ons gezorgd, hield rekening met de groep mensen. Hij wist veel te vertellen over Cómpeta zelf en alle bijzonderheden van het mooie landschap onderweg. Ontbijt en diner was elke dag goed verzorgd in verschillende restaurants in het dorp zelf. Supergezellig en ontspannen ondanks de af en toe pittige klimmetjes op de route, die weer werden beloond met een mooi uitzicht op de omgeving. Veel diversiteit in de routes en omgeving.

Net terug van een fantastische wandelweek in en rondom Competa. De week was georganiseerd door Aktiva Tours, maar alle wandelingen waren bedacht en begeleid door Onne van Spanjeanders. De wandelingen hadden een prima opbouw van rustig en licht de eerste dag, naar een pittige, prachtige laatste dag. Onne heeft ons supergoed begeleid, hield iedereen goed in de gaten, paste het tempo aan de groep aan en bereidde ons elke avond voor op het traject van de volgende dag. Echt een aanrader!

Afgelopen 4 dagen de 4-daagse van Compéta gelopen. Voor de 2e maal. Was weer heerlijk lopen met een niet ál te grote groep. Zeer mooie omgeving en als je een beetje geoefend bent geen probleem! De 4e dag een heerlijk buffet gegeten. Absoluut een aanrader, ook omdat het daar zó mooi is. Volgend jaar weer!!!

Wij hebben dit jaar voor het eerst meegedaan met de 4daagse van Competa. Het was een geweldige ervaring met professionele begeleiding en prachtige routes. Onderweg werd gezorgd voor koffie en thee en heerlijke druiven. Een aanrader om met Spanjeanders mee op pad te gaan.
