The tour guide, an older female, (sorry can’t recall her name at the moment) was really great and personable If she knew the answer, then she would tell us the background of it as well.

The gold rush tour wasn't available so I was given the rocky mountains winter/spring parks tour. Definitely worth going on. Estes is a beautiful little mountain down. No complaints.

If you are going for a short trip and have limited time, this is an ok option to learn about the area and get the gist of how mining is done. But it's kind of tacky. I had taken a different all day tour 2 days before and it was extremely informative and covered a broad area. The gold mine is short. Time spent in Central City was nice, but we were there before everything opened (other than casinos).
I'd recommend spending the whole day on a Rocky Mountain National Park tour.

This was a really fun tour. Our tour guide was a super nice guy. He was knowledgeable about the area and made several beautiful stops along the way up to the mine. Thanks for a pleasurable day.

The trip we took was just the four of us and one additional person that joined our group. Due to flight cancelations the other people had to cancel. The Owner guided our trip herself. The first thing she asked was our names and what we wanted to see on the trip. Due to the size of the group, she let us spend more time at the locations that we were more interested in. My 10-year-old son wanted to pan for gold all day!! The group talked over the amount of time we wanted to spend at each stop, and she was more than accommodating. We learned so much and had a great understanding of how hard life in the gold rush must have been. When we head back to Denver we are going to sign up for more trips. If you are on the fence and enjoy history, great views, and very nice family-owned business that wants to make sure you have a great trip you are in the wright place!!
