We took the 3.5 hour cruise and can recommend it even as “locals “. The crew was great , helpful and cruise commentary educational. Lunch was boxed cold meats and salad, roll, cheese and a small chocolate , afternoon tea also served. Drinks available for purchase on board. Experiencing the lock in action and seeing abundant bird life, seals, pelicans en masse ,Roos and emus made this a true Aussie adventure. A stop to venture through the sand dunes to see the wild ocean beyond was a nice way to break up the trip. Recommended .

This cruise was a highlight of our trip to this lovely area of South Australia. Our hosts, Kirk and Jessica, were friendly and engaging. The commentary was very informative and entertaining. We were fortunate to have bottle nosed dolphins put on a show as well as seeing plenty of fur seals, pelicans, and other seabirds including a white breasted sea eagle. The scenery within the Coorong and on the beach of the Southern Ocean was beautiful. We enjoyed learning about the ecology and conservation measures and the human experience of the Coorong. The light lunch provided was tasty and fresh. Overall, an excellent experience!

Saw lots of seals, pelicans and even some dolphines. I learned a lot about the river mouth system and the traditional land thanks to Kirk and Jess. I loved the simple yet tasty lunch and also appreciated how much the two guides were organised in their service. It was a slow paced cruise ride including a short walk. Perfect for me who needed a quick relaxing day out.

Just a great experience that is authentically Australian! Get to experience the vastness of the Coorong, it's natural beauty, and its amazing flora and fauna. The Skipper provided a great informative commentary, and the first mate, was indeed first class! Lunch, especially accompanied with an ice-cold Coopers Lager, was great. Really enjoyed the walk through the dunes to the open ocean, with great insight into the Aboriginal people who once inhabited the dunes. We sat on top for the out-voyage, which gave a great 360 view, then inside in comfort for the return. If you visit the Coorong, then take this trip .... You wont regret it.

An excellent introduction to the natural beauty of the Coorong from the comfort of the Spirit of the Murray. Highlights include transiting the Goolwa Barrage loch and the variety of wildlife encountered. Skipper Kirk’s informative commentary enhanced the experience and his vessel handling skills were in evidence throughout the afternoon making all aboard very comfortable. Crew member, Jessica, looked after passenger needs efficiently distributing tasty lunch packages accompanied by a choice of drinks for purchase. Jessica also accompanied a shore excursion from the protected waters of the Coorong across the Younghusband Peninsular to experience the wild Southern Ocean with the opportunity to perform the ‘pippi shuffle’ on the beach. A great afternoon experience.

Great tour, the crew were very friendly, provided great information and are very happy & friendly. Saw lots of seals, pelicans, sea birds plus the bonus of a pod of dolphins that stayed around the boat for a while. So special.
