Great place to visit and our guide was informative and enthusiastic. It was very cold and rained a little so I recommend taking a warm coat and something for protection from the rain. The tour was definitely worth doing.

Catherine, our tour guide, was fun and engaging during the tour. Very informative and such an extraordinary site to tour! There is lots of steep walking, but it is worth it to see the views of the entire city! Highly recommend!

Ross was a great tour guide! We were unfortunately running late and very luckily found Ross with the yellow and black on and secured our tickets before having to enter the castle. Ross was funny and entertaining and knowledgeable.

The guide Nick was knowledgeable, helpful and was able to provide explanations and a deeper understanding of the history around the castle and Scotland. I’ve done similar tours before and this was very good. Only slight criticism is that £35 each was a bit pricey for a couple of hours.

Frankly our guide (Catherine) was super sweet and chatted quite a lot, but we actually found it quite boring and left the group to rented an audio guide. I’m glad we did. When she chatted, we weren’t going inside buildings. I was able to go into several of the buildings after I left. I felt bad leaving the group, but I feel that it was more for younger people who needed that extra bit of “history”. I wanted to experience the castle for its entirety. Unfortunately a massive downpour came and cut it short. Would I recommend? I can’t say that I would. But that’s just my opinion.
