Seeing how the china is made and decorated on the tour was mind boggling!! The talent and expertise of the workmen and seeing the intricate craftsmanship required gives extraordinary insight into the individual quality of these items.

As a couple we just strolled in, too late for the last tour of the day. Even without the explenation from the guide we learned a lot and were blown away by the many creations. With item prices from 100 € for a simple plate, like the ones you buy from IKEA, to a price of 60.000 € for amazing creations of vases, animals, clocks and much much more, there is plenty to see in this big and cool building. It is not a good place to bring small children because of the many fragile (and expensive) things on open display.

This was highly interesting , especially seeing the artist work on the porcelain in little individual sessions. Everything was explained very well and there was also an audio visual session on the history of the factory. Opportunity to see some of the original pieces in the museum and the modern works as well Guide we had was extremely knowledgeable

We had a fascinating guided tour starting with seeing how the pottery is made, then moved on to the shaping and fine moulding of flowers and small things followed by drawing the design and finally painting. The tour ended there and we could look round the museum. We bought a combi ticket for 2 people for 48€, which gave us entry to the Albrechtsburg as well as the Meissen porcelain factory. We had coffee and cake in the cafe which was quite expensive and we felt the cakes were dry. I've had much better cakes and coffee for less money elsewhere.

Took the train from Dresden --> Meissen, solely to visit the porcelain factory. The mini tour to view how the porcelain is made was very informative. The museum upstairs was also incredibly impressive, with some huge pieces of porcelain artwork. I was surprised to find the shop *that* expensive, but then again i wasn't aware of Meissen before coming to Germany.

I enjoyed that the craftspeople were working with the clay while they explained. I do not understand German but it was not necessary to understand the words because the work was being done step by step. I appreciated the museum more because the workshop demonstations opened my imagination for porcelaine. A great learning experience.

We went there last week as a family of 5 (2 parents and 3 kids, ages 7, 10, and 12). A family ticket is available for "2 parents and their children". However, we were charged the family price plus an extra child, because for some odd reason, a family ticket only 2 children. Don't really think this is fair, but if that's the policy, they should be clear how they define a family.
