St. Ives is small but totally packed with interest. The coast is very close - just a couple of minutes from the centre. The fish we had was SO good - a couple of places (the same people running both) We went to The Lizard because there is yet another brilliant fish restaurant - right at the tip - As Cornwall is quite small it is easy to get anywhere, so if the weather looks questionable you can go to the other coast. We often buy Christmas gifts in places where we stay as most interesting, quality shops have gone where we live & especially Cornwall has some really quality craft items. Our accommodation was the only thing that spoilt it for us - we were taking our dog & it was totally unsuitable - a second floor flat with no outside space - we had to force him back in each time we returned. So I would say - St. Ives - is a place just for humans. The amount of dogs when we were there was overwhelming.

If you are in Cornwall - you have to contact Pete about his tours of the Cornwall area. Our driver was Steve who showed us the area over a 3 day time period starting by picking us up at the Gatwick Airport and driving us to our hotel in Newquay. And this actually cost about the same as flying down to Newquay and taking a taxi to the hotel. We actually drove by Stonehenge on the way. We then set out to see all the sights in Cornwall including the majestic St. Michaels Mount, King Arthurs Tintagel, Lands End and the Minack Theater carved into the cliffs of Cornwall. All the while, Steve told us stories that brought these locations to life. And driving in Cornwall with its very very narrow roads is an experience all in itself. My wife and I travel frequently and found Elite Duchy Tours to be one of the very best for private tours. They will be the highlight of your vacation.

My daughter and I went with Pete on the Essential Cornwall Tour. It was the highlight of our trip to the UK. Pete provided local information and took us to sites we would never have visited on our own. It was a wonderful day, and we highly recommend Elite Duchy Tours.

Peter Long is one of the best tour guides we've ever experience. His knowledge of history and Literature made the full day we spent with him come alive. He customized our day based on our interests. We through enjoyed hearing facts and legends about the Cornwall area. You won't regret spending a day with Peter!

My highest recommendation for Peter Long with Elite Duchy Tours in Cornwall. We spent one day with Pete exploring some of the sights of Cornwall. Pete is a wonderful conversationalist and pleasure to spend the day with. Saw lots of unknown places around the Lizard Peninsula, pub lunch along the Helford and stunning scenic drive from St Agnes to Padstow. His background with the Met Police along with his knowledge of history only added to our spectacular sunny day! He navigated narrow, steep, single-track roads with ease. So pleased that we were not driving and could enjoy the beautiful scenery. Thank you for such a memorable day!

we enjoyed a wonderful time with Steve who drove us through Cornwall and told us so much about history and culture. We wouldn´t have been able seeing all these places in one day without this tour. Thanks again, Seve....

The last day of our Cornwall trip we discovered a family home that was a bit out of the itinerary. He drove us there and we talked with the caretakers. He made it an experience that we will never forget. Thank you Lynne and Steve Sept 2022

You do need to be relatively fit to climb the steep cobbles up to the top; but well worth it for the scenery and panoramic views!
