Craters Silvestri of Mount Etna

They are two pyroclastic cones formed north of Nicolosi, at an altitude of about 1,900 m, on the slopes of the Etna volcano. Their formation dates back to the eruption of 1892: this began on 9 July with the formation of a radial fracture, and therefore of a boutonniere of five craters, between 2025 and 1800 m, on the southern slope of the flanks of the volcano. It lasted 173 days and covered about 7 kilometres, until it touched the Monti Rossi on the eastern side, stopping just above Nicolosi, at an altitude of 970 m a.s.l.

The experience of being on Mt Etna was truly unique and special. The hike route includes a breathtaking view from an old crater. The route is generally not too hard on the cardio, but it can be challenging for people afraid of heights. Despite this, the guides offered assistance to everyone who needed it, including me! A great thing is that they provide jackets and shoes, so you can experience this even if you packed only for a sunny holiday.

Amazing experience def must do when in Catania. Raffaella and Chrystopher were amazing guides, telling lot ab Etna! No need to look for stm else. Just do it! :)

Raffaella and Chrystopher we're great Guides: everything was perfectly planned Equipment: Besides helmets and hiking sticks, we could also borrow trekking shoes, jackets and backpacks The tour: Our hike started pretty steep, but that was only for the first minutes. There were many short breaks, photo opportunities and much knowledge about the Etna My highlight: Personally, I loved the descent back to the car - be surprised, I'm sure you will enjoy! I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour

My boyfriend and I spent a lovely day with Etna Periperi Excursions. Raffaella and Chrystopher are very professional and absolutely lovely. You must must must choose Chrystopher and Refaella as your guide to Enta. They’re super professional, educated, generous, nice and have good vibes and motivation. They also took care of providing jackets and hiking shoes for the ones who came unprepared which is truly amazing! they also took us to the cave after climbing. The explanations and story telling were offered in a really natural and best way possible. I liked that they know exactly when and where to stop for giving explanations after few minutes of an effort of going up. Thank you Chrystopher and Refaella, because of you I could experience Etna the best was possible.
