Richard was amazing. So knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. Always asking if we had any questions and checking how people were.

This is a two hour walking tour of the area that was part of the era called the Guilded Age that spanned from 1880 to 1910 in Manhattan. Richard was our guide and he was knowledgeable about so many details of the people who inhabited these fabulous homes such as the Vanderbilts, Astors, etc. The tour was a history lesson as well as a unique experience.

Richard was a knwledgeable and very engaging guide who brought the gilded age to life. Despite the very cold weather, the tour was fascinating, and we learned so much about mansions that were gone and a few still in existence. The guide's iPad had many photos and maps that illuminated his explanations.

We loved the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable & interesting! The walk included stops at various spots where gilded age mansions once stood.

The tour was excellent. Alexis knew her facts and the history of the mansions was pretty amazing. In spite of the street closures we managed to walk around and find the sev=crets that lay between the modern buildings.

The tour, which lasted two hours, began at the Plaza and ended 15 blocks north near the Frick museum. During our walk we learned much about the Astors, Vanderbilts, and other families who owned mansions along fifth avenue. We heard interesting and often humorous stories about the intense and often petty social competition between families. We learned about two of the architects, Richard Hunt and Stanford White, who built many of the homes. Our tour guide, Bob G. was knowledgeable and friendly and answered all our questions. He really made the tour. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and we highly recommend it.
