What a fantastic tour. Absolutely loved the history part of the tour as it provided the foundation for the gin part, particularly as one of the owners contributed in shaping gin as we know it. Luke and Hugo were brilliant guides and very knowledgeable. It has to be one of the better tours that I have been on and I feel that it was definitely value for money. We topped of the tour with and afternoon tea. That was superb and thoroughly recommend to round of the tour.

I attended this as part of a Hen weekend at the Vale. This was definitely the highlight of the whole trip. Peter was the perfect host and most of us came home with many of the delicious products purchased at the end of our engaging cocktail making demo. Thanks Peter - we’ll be back! 😊👍

The whole experience was amazing. Drink on arrival was delicious. Peter the tour guide was so knowledgeable and so welcoming to everyone on the tour. I would definitely recommend the tour to others. I wouldn't do it again having been on the tour but very much look forward to returning for the gin making experience instead. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

I can thoroughly recommend the gin tour. The guide was exceptionally well informed and we learned a lot of interesting facts both about the history of gin and of Hensol Castle. There was plenty of opportunity to taste different flavours of gin and to see how it is made. If you like gin, don’t miss this experience!

Informative yet fun afternoon in the bowels of Hensol Castle at their little Gin Distillery. Interesting and amusing history of gin and the castle beginning and ending with plenty of gin! Lots of opportunity to smell the botanicals and taste the fabulous Hensol Gins. We then headed upstairs to finish our experience with a great prosecco afternoon tea. This was a present for my special birthday and I can thoroughly recommend.

Took my wife for her birthday , (always a gamble). Cannot recommend highly enough. Our guide (sorry forgot his name) was very knowledgeable, interesting, friendly, welcoming, helpful and advised us in our gin making experience. Our gin turned out very well and our guide even took a photo of our recipe! We stayed next door at the Vale resort which was equally excellent with gourmet meals an amazing gym and spa and superb service (including picking us up from the castle after our gin making and tasting). Highly recommended and we will return for an Interactive dinner experience shortly.

I was bought this tour as a gift and really enjoyed the day. The tour guide was great, the staff all very friendly and cant do enough for you. The tour itself was very interesting and informative. Would definitely recommend this tour if you are a Gin lover like me.

What an interesting and enjoyable experience! So much more than just a tour. Hugo our guide was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of Hensol Castle as well as the gin distillery side, he brought it all to life and time flew. We were treated to a welcome gin drink to have with our tour, then gin tasting was explained in detail so we were fully involved in the experience and then a leisurely gin and tonic to finish in the bar. As I was driving my husband had his there but Hugo gave me a takeaway package to have at home. Very thoughtful. We had full afternoon tea afterwards and the food did not disappoint...delicious, lots of lovely different cakes and sandwiches accompanied by a choice of specialist teas. We chose Danish Pastry and Chocolate Brownie teas. Who knew leaf tea could taste so like pastries and cake! Thoroughly recommend a visit as I can't write everything here that was on offer.

Gin tasting experience - fabulous couple of hours touring the distillery. Our guide was Eve and she was brilliant. Made the afternoon interesting and such fun. We thought it good value for money and at the end you get to sample other gins made by Hensol and ended up buying quite a few bottles for ourselves and as presents. We were staying at the Vale and they organised a shuttle bus to drop off and pick up or it was a 7 min pleasant walk along a path from Castle to Vale. All in all very enjoyable. We intend to go back for the Gin making experience and the cocktail making experience at some point. Would definitely recommend Hensol. There was a wedding going on the day we went so we couldnt have a peek around the castle sadly but next time.
