The driver/tour guide was informative and pleasant. Virginia City is interesting and Carson City as well. The issue I have is with the booking company. One of the pickup places was in front of Marriot Resorts and the listing didn’t say where you could park. Unless you are staying at this particular hotel there is no parking close by. Don’t make the mistake I made. I parked in a shopping center across from the hotel and didn’t realize it was a 2-hour limit. Ended up with a $200 parking fine.

Seeing Virginia City - yet not having to drive. Also to see the mines was an added bonus, not to mention the detour through Carson City

This is the great way to see the city and get some history. You ride a trolley car, and it is the Best $10 .00 I have spent.

Would have liked to have made stops in Carson City. Wasn't enough time spent in Virginia City to go thru all the shops but all in all it was the best of all the excursions I went on during this trip.

All of the land marks he stopped to point out if he had a chance to pull off the road, remembering where we were from very accommodating.

Nevada Smith gave us an informative and colorful story of the Gold Rush and the start of the settling of Virginia City and of the gold and silver mines. Saint Mary of the Mountains was the oldest Catholic Church and is beautiful—be aware that it is closed from 1-1:30 for their lunch.

This is a good way to learn a few things about the area’s history - from the Pony Express to the Gold and Silver strikes - with a local guide in a comfortable bus. The pickup locations are convenient, the drive is scenic. We got lots of ideas about places we could visit in Carson City. The stop in Virginia City includes an old time train trip through the area where the mining happened, and plenty of time in Virginia City to eat and browse. The churches and the school are worth a visit. Lots of options for lunch. The shops are all the same - and unless you are looking for some tourist souvenirs are not worth a visit. We had an enjoyable day.
