Thomas was fabulous. Absolutely knew his subject and clearly enthusiastic. Made the history really come alive. Great interaction. Happy to take questions and enter into conversation throughout his storytelling. Definitely a tour to include on a trip to Chester. Thank you!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, the tour guide Thomas was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. He obviously enjoys what he does and made the tour very interesting.

This was so much fun. Thomas was dressed as a longbow man and talked to us in character, really bringing that period of history to life. He had lots of interesting things to show us - armour, weapons, coins, arrow heads, etc - and you could hold them, eg to feel how heavy the helmets were. We learnt a lot about what it was like to live in that time and what was going on with the nobility in charge of Chester. It was great to be in a small group so we could ask questions. Thomas was very knowledgeable and passionate about history. I would highly recommend this tour.

The medieval walking tour of Chester was fantastic. Thomas was dressed as a longbow man and talked to us in character. He got a lot of fascinating information across in an enjoyable way. We learnt a huge amount about that period in history and what was going on in the Chester area and he really brought it alive to us. I was very impressed with his knowledge and his obvious passion for history. I would strongly recommend this tour as fun as well as informative.

Thomas was such an engaging and endearing guide this this highly educational and wonderful tour! We had this tour on a monday in the off-peak season which is a big ask, but he was so delighted to be out with us from the start. No mater what question asked he had a bright grin and a ready answer. He loves history and it shows in how much he knows about the area and the medieval history. He was so engaging with his story telling, he involved us all in it and made it real, pitting his crowd against each other in such a unique fashion it had us all laughing one minute and shaking our fists at each other the next! I myself was King Richard who loathed the dastardly Bolingbroke, who that day was a charming and apologetic American on an outing with his very sweet family. I never cared for history in school or in those educational tv shows but this was so outside how we usually consume the past I would highly recommend it even to someone who isn't invested in the past. You will be whisked up in the events of the dramas of by-gone years with Thomas' easy and lovely demeanour.

Thank you to Thomas for what turned out to be a private tour for me and my dad. Our guide brought the Hotspur Rebellion to life for us and clearly loves medieval history. I was most surprised to discover how old the rows were having always thought they were Tudor!

This tour was informative and entertaining. Thomas struck a good balance between giving the right amount of information and asking and answering questions. Some really interesting information about the longbowmen. I am inspired to find out more about the Battle of Shrewsbury and Henry IV. Thank you Thomas

My girlfriend organised this for the two of us for valentine's day. Apparently no one else had this idea so we had the tour to ourselves! Our tour guide/Cheshire longbowman/personal bodyguard, Thomas, was dressed the part and gave us a view of Chester that was both fun and detailed! Not knowing anything about the history of Chester previously, but being from nearby Shrewsbury, I came away with a new appreciation of it's importance! Would definitely recommend this experience, even if you don't get Thomas to yourself!

We met Richard, our guide and despite being the only people on the tour we set off to learn more about Chester, and Englands medieval history. Fascinating with a knowledgeable guide who was happy to answer questions. Would recommend for all the family
