Good to know

Remember to bring your scuba diving certification card or temporary card for verification, or you can provide digital verification for non-PADI certifications. The minimum age for participation is 12, and convenient hotel transfers are available from 8:00 am onwards. After completing paperwork at the dive center, you'll travel to the dive site in a comfortable, air-conditioned van. Enjoy different entry points or routes during the dives, and expect to be back at your hotel by 2:30 pm after a day filled with incredible underwater adventures.

I have dived with Leagues now over 20 times over the course of two trips and they are easily one of the best dive centres, I have dived with in my 4 years as a qualified diver. The League’s experience begins from the minute you contact them on their website to the moment they hand you back your rinsed and packed kit after your last dive. I have had the fortune this trip to dive with all of their Instructors and DM’s except James who I have previously dived with and can honestly say that they are extremely professional, open and friendly and dedicated to giving you a safe and enjoyable dive experience. I have never undergone training with them but my parter is currently halfway through his DiveMaster Course with them and I am happy to vouch for the quality of their training. They have a little competition based on the reviews they get online, last time I think I was pretty partisan but my vote this time has to be with Ben (the 3rd best DiveMaster, his words not. Mine) in a casual conversation we were having he gave me a little snippet of advice around buoyancy control that I doubt he even remembers but it really helped my diving that trip. But a massive thank you to James & Sophie, Paulo, Emil and Ben.

Went to El cabron this October (2023) as a newly qualified open water diver with leagues ahead and it was amazing. Sophie had previously gather all equipment needed for this dive prior to arriving so every thing was ready to go which was good . El Cabron wasn’t far from the dive shop so didn’t take long in the van. It was very pretty as it is a marine reserve holding lots of fish and marine life. We had Paulo and Emil as our instructors both are very helpful , friendly and happy to be working with you. Before our dive in the briefing paulo and Emil went over all our signal and emergency procedures in case any thing was to happen. They were also on hand to help with kit if needed. Both instructors help with fins, mask and entering the water. They were over all very helpful. On this dive we saw an angle shark (which I was told is quite lucky at this time of year) , lost or octopus , cuttle fish , eels , arrow crabs , sea enemies, and a star fish and hundreds of schools of fish. All were great sites . The site was overall amazing and with cool rock structures and arches to swim through. The staff were also amazing. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning to leagues ahead diving.

I have dived on three separate holidays with Leagues Ahead, the last time was September 2023. I found them to be very professional, especially Sophie in the dive centre. When I arrived recently for my dive all the kit was ready for me as they had my details from previous visits. It made life easy for me. At the dive site; Rinco Verde, the group of five divers, I was in, were all given very clear briefing. For the first dive there was a dive leader and an additional following diver overseeing the group. The second dive had an extra overseeing diver. At all times I felt confident being underwater, leading to a safe and enjoyable two dives. I would particularly mention the dive leader; Emil and my Leagues Ahead dive buddies Viva and Ben. My dives in previous years was Paulo, who is very knowledgeable on marine life. On this occasion he led a different group.

The team is really friendly and helpful, they picked us up at our Hotel and after picking up our equipment we went to Tufia. Lots of sea life and we even saw an Angel Shark. Our guide Ben took us on two great dives. We would definitely recommend it.

A second visit & review following my previous visit in Apr22. Still just as good, efficient, friendly, with good quality kit and an excellent dive team. Good price too, but don’t tell them that! This time we visited Tufia (east coast) for 2 great dives, lots of octopus, parrots, rays etc. No hanging around either, picked up at 8:15am, back to hotel for 2:30pm - excellent! Absolutely “leagues ahead”!

Leagues Ahead certainly lives up to it's name. Extremely friendly, welcoming and professional diving team. Brilliant, fast communication and organisation from Sophie who answered any questions extremely quickly. All the team are lovely, supportive and very welcoming. I did the refresher dive followed by a further day of x2 dives. The dives were amazing, fantastic locations/marine life, with great variety of diving sites/abilities. Emil was amazing at helping me through the refresher dive, and felt extremely at ease/safe at all times. Thank you also to Kyle and Emil for the fantastic experience, and patience when I was trying to get out of the water at the end of the dive 😂 Highly recommend! Thank you all so much for the fantastic experience, hope to return!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - the most friendly, welcoming and professional dive centre I have used. From the initial messages to book dives before I arrived in Gran Canaria right through to the dives themselves, nothing was a problem, Sophie was always at the end of the phone to organize everything . Pick up from hotel was on time and always with hugs and smiles. You also get a bit of history on the journey to the dive site by Emil. Felt relaxed right away ( I was by myself). James is fantastic and will go out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. ( Extra muffins on day 2 of diving😂) He is also very knowledgeable about the singer Sting (don't ask 😂😂) The dives themselves are NEVER rushed and you have lots of time to explore, in my case for octopus to make friends with. We had a bubble making class with Emil, we all failed but it's something to keep working on. Can't wait to come back and dive with Leagues Ahead, which they are. See you all soon guys
