The Douro Valley is a beautiful area to visit and a nice break from city travel and crowded tourism. Nice to have a knowledgeable guide and a private car. Visited and Toured two wineries, had a gourmet lunch, and stopped in a couple small towns for snacks, wine and photos. Highly Recommend this experience!

Our guide, Marcio, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Douro Valley. We not only had excellent wines-including Port, but a very tasty lunch in the area. We highly recommend taking this tour as the scenery was like a calendar.

My husband and I had a great time touring Douro Valley with Marcio. The route he chose allowed us to see a lot of the stunning landscape, while never stopping in a place that was overly crowded or touristic. His choice of small, family-run wineries was perfect. The staff at each stop were also fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. We made it back to Porto with full hearts, heads, and bellies.

We had a great day tasting wine at three wineries. The wineries were artfully selected to give us a more personal and varied experience. We saw tour buses in the distrance but never got too close! Our "typical" local lunch was delicious with a variety of dishes to taste. Highly recommend this tour!

We had an amazing day! Our guide was absolutely lovely, and was so knowledgeable about the region, the wines, and the food. We enjoyed our time with him very much, and feel we learned some interesting things as we traveled through the beautiful countryside. We highly recommend this experience.

Márcio was a wonderful guide. As soon as we booked we reached out to Márcio who answered all our questions very quickly and asked us some questions so he could make the day suit us and made suggestions so that we could avoid the usual tourist traps. He reached out again in advance of the tour to confirm everything was still OK for him. On the day of the tour Márcio arrived early and let us know he was there and his vehicle was spotless and comfortable. First up we stopped in a quaint village (Amarante) for a walk and some refreshments before reaching our first winery where we had amazing wine, port and stunning views in a small winery. Before lunch we visited another beautiful village for a wander and some refreshments before having lunch in a local spot and heading off to our final winery for an absolutely amazing selection of wine, port, honey and even olive oil. Throughout the say Márcio educated us on wine, life in Portugal and history. Although it was a long day we were entertained and extremely happy all day long. Honestly, we could not have had a better day. With Márcio's help it felt more like spending a day with a friend rather than a guide. Don't hesitate, just book.

You can tell Marcio loves wine and is doing his best to provide great experience to his guests. We visited a picturesque village and 2 very special wineries with a bunch of beautiful spots on the way. And lunch in the middle was beyond all praise! The tour is highly recommended to all wine lovers.

We did a private all day Duoro valley trip with our guide and driver - Márcio Araújo. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and patient. The entire trip was done at our pace and he was very patient with our questions. The wineries chosen were off the beaten track and perfect. Qe travelled in a groupmof 3 with oir teenager, who for a cha he was also happy with the trip. Would highly recommend for anyone who want a personalised experience to Duoro Valley.

Overall this experience was wonderful and felt intimately personalized. Every location we visited had a different activity, it wasn’t just wine tasting. Additionally, we learned how the production of wine within the region varies widely, from industrial proportions to homemade traditions. We were treated with an extraordinary meal for lunch highlighting traditional Portuguese food and cooking techniques. Last but not least, the tour guide is a master class in hospitality and it was a pleasure to get to know him. He was flexible to our desires throughout the tour, and was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the valley and the production of wine.
