Your Itinerary

Dolmen de Kerguntuil

At this site your guide will show you two sites that are listed as prehistoric dolmens. You will be given an understanding of the vast amounts of human history that have passed since they were built and you will begin to learn about the people that built these amazing monuments. You will also learn why, sometimes, things may not be what they seem!

covered alley of Keryvon

We will stop briefly at this monument that stands right beside a main road. You will hear a little about local folklore and start to understand how some of these sites are under threat from environmental change.

Allée couverte de Ty Lia

This is a beautifully preserved monument that displays some unique features in the way it was constructed at the transition from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age. At this site we will talk more about what was originally constructed and what remains visible today. After this site there will be an opportunity to pause for a coffee, chocolat chaud, (or something stronger if you prefer) at a local cafe/creperie (subject to local opening times). Here we can discuss how people lived in prehistory. There will also be a chance to look closely at some small examples from the prehistoric "tool kit" and discover how they were made.

2 Rue des ÃŽles

Subject to local opening hours a refreshment stop at the quaint little Le Triagoz creperie is available. Pausing here for a coffee, a crepe (or something stronger if you prefer) gives us time to talk about the production of prehistoric stone tools and to examine a few examples from a very famous site. Refreshments are not included in the price of the tour.

Allee Couverte Et Menhir De Prajou-menhir

This site has some of the finest examples of prehistoric rock art on the Pink Granite Coast, but it's a bit of a squeeze if you'd like to see them "up close and personal". At first some of it can be a little hard to spot, but I will show you where to look and what to look for. Throughout the whole of your tour we will discuss the methods of producing such rock art and speculate about the meaning, which still hasn't been fully deciphered.

Menhir de Saint Uzec

The magnificent Menhir de Saint Uzec is truly enormous and has more than one story to tell. Our theme of rock art continues at this site but in a different context. There is also a second possible monument at this location which is hiding in plain view. Should you find you still want more at the end of your tour, there will be the option of visiting a final site roughly 15 minutes away, close to the town of Lannion.
