Parc Natural de la Serra de Montsant

After the practice run our airconditioned minibuses driven by our guides will take you up into the mountains. It's an approx. 20 min ride. From the top of the mountain you will take a downhill bike run on paved roads with very little traffic. On your way down you will pass through some small rural villages and take in the beautiful scenery.

If you are familiar with a bike, this tour gives you the great opportunity to view this side of Spain from the mountains. The tour guides were really friendly and had great things to tell about the area. On the tour, you can bike down on your own/with family/friends/etc, and stop at certain points at which the guide tells something about the surrounding area. You can choose to buy photo's, which one of the tour guides will make with a professional camera. You also get picked up and dropped off as close to your hotel as possible. I really recommend this trip. From the beautiful view points and surroundings, the great knowledge of the tour guides, to their kind and approachable attitude, this tour is a great addition to your tip!

What a wonderful day out - I could not recommend more highly! (family with young teenager - all well able for it). There were younger kids on our tour too. Manfred and Katrin (and new recruit Julian) will take such good care of you. They paid such attention to the safety and comfort of each person, starting with ensuring we were all matched with the right bike. Katrin was able to adjust any slight issues along the way. The route and views are really spectacular and provide a wonderful contrast to the big resort of Salou. The roads are quiet but not entirely traffic free - Spanish drivers really do seem to respect cyclists and it felt pretty safe. Also - it really is 95% downhill! There was a 'Downhill Bikes' van to the front and van behind our group - so lots of support on the journey. Our trip was broken down into sections (with a stop / check-in and explanation of the next section of the route). This made it very doable. We finished with a welcome cold drink and an ice cream in bar in a village at the end. The scenery and escape were the big draw but it turned out that Manfred and Katrin were the stars - they are made for a business like this - so welcoming and friendly. The essence of hospitality.

I wasn't sure what to expect when this was booked but I'm glad as this is one heck of an amazing experience. Right from the start we were looked after, told what we would be doing and given full instruction as to what we needed to do. After that we were taken up to the hills where the experience just kept getting better. This is a life experience and I'm so glad I did it with my wife and daughter as we had an amazing time and what we saw was something no other excursion could do.

Had to cancel on the day of the tour as we could not get a taxi to the starting point. When we booked the tour and advised the operator we were staying outside Salou and would catch a taxi to the start they said that was fine. There was no warning it may be difficult to get a taxi. The hotel. uber and freenow could get us a taxi. So my advice is if you are not staying in Salou be careful about booking this tour. No refund just bad luck.

We can't rave enough about this amazing excursion! We joined them last week with a 16m old baby and a 3 yr old so both kids went on the back of mine and hubby's bikes and we absolutely loved it. Manfred & Kathryn (apologies if I've spelt that incorrectly!) were professional, friendly and attentive to all our needs - truly lovely people. They gave a great history of the area whilst in the bus driving and were great with the kids too. We were picked up by mini-bus right by our hotel (they even brought car seats for our children which really impressed me and put me at ease), then we went and practised for a short while before driving up into the Spanish mountains for us to cycle down. We followed Manfred on his bike in front and Kathryn followed on the bus behind us for safety too. I must stress you really only need to be able to ride a bike for this excursion, you don't need to be fit as the majority is downhill other than a few little inclines which I'm confident anyone could manage. There were plenty of breaks, water stops etc.. the whole thing was around 4 hours from pick-up to drop-off and that was the half-day experience. We took our own drinks and snacks but they did provide water. They also take fantastic photos of you which you can purchase for just 20 euros (no brainer for us - the photos were fab). We both came away saying how this definitely MADE our holiday! Would 100% recommend!

A lovely ride with great tour leads. Everything was well explained and the atmosphere was great. For intermediate bikers, it's an easy and relaxed ride since it's downhill. We were the first group to try out the new cycling path to the ocean. It felt like making a little bit of history! A warm thank you to the organizers. I cannot fault this tour, what a great way to spend half a day with the family and I can highly recommend it to those who, like us, want to get out of the resorts to see the area. The tour went ahead for myself, my partner and my young son (6) despite there being no-one else booked on it, this was really lovely and was like a personal tour just for us. Our son learned to ride a bike at a young age but was kindly given the option of a tag along or his own bike - he chose the latter! The guides were so friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about what is a really beautiful area. They told us some of the history and this all really brought the trip to life. They were really supportive throughout, especially praising my son who struggled a bit cycling into the strong wind on some of the flatter sections. We would have like to have taken some of our own photos, especially in the villages but understand why this wouldn't logistically work, particularly with a large group but there were some good photos included on the USB we purchased. We would definitely consider doing the other tours if we visit the area again.

Fantastic experience. Cycling downhill was exhilarating and the scenery and pretty villages enhanced the experience. Our hosts were lovely and we finished off our perfect afternoon with a cold beer in an authentic local pub. 100% recommend
