Your Itinerary

Roman Forum

From the top of the Capitol Hill you have the vantage point view of the entire Roman Forum, a stunning portion of the Palatine Hill, and the Coliseum in the distance. This is also a very popular spot for amazing photographs and group photos, so make sure you have your cameras handy.

Pantheon

The Pantheon, Rome's ancient temple once dedicated to all the Roman gods. In 6th century it became a church and burial place for Italy’s royalty like King Vittorio Emanuele II, King Umberto I and Queen Margherita, and notable artists like Raphael. NOTE that it is possible that the Pantheon might start charging admission tickets. There is no information made available yet.

Trevi Fountain

Tradition has it that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they will be assured a return to Rome, two coins will lead to a new romance and three will ensure a marriage. Nearly 3,000 Euros are thrown into the fountain daily and are collected at night. The money is used as charity to subsidize a supermarket for Rome's less fortunate.

Spanish Steps

The name Spanish Steps earned its name after the Spanish Embassy that was permanently located there in 1647, and it was later transformed into the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See. Below the staircase is an early 1600’s Baroque fountain, “Fontanna della Barcaccio”, or “The Fountain of the Old Boat”, a type of shallow boat particularly used for carrying wine to the port of Ripetta. At the top of the elegant 18th century winding stairway is the French church of Trinità dei Monti.

Piazza Navona

As you enter this bustling plaza, a symphony of sights and sounds envelops you. The air crackles with the joyful chatter of locals and the melodies of street musicians, their tunes floating through the open space like whispers of a forgotten era. Laughter and animated conversations fill the air, painting a vivid tapestry of Roman life. Your gaze is immediately drawn to the centerpiece of the piazza, the majestic Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, the Fountain of the Four Rivers. Its sculpted figures, representing the great rivers of the world, stand proudly amidst cascading water, frozen in a moment of eternal motion. The sparkling spray catches the sunlight, casting a shimmering spell upon the entire square. Piazza Navona, a place where dreams intertwine with reality, beckons you to become part of its ever-evolving story.

St. Peter's Square

Enjoy a stroll through the spacious square that welcomes you with its enormous embracing colonnades. St Peter’s Square is located in front of St Peter’s Basilica. The vast elliptical square was designed by the famous Gian Lorenzo Bernini for the purpose of allowing the greatest number of spectators to see the Pope give his blessings. Surrounding the square like embracing arms are the classic 4-column deep Tuscan colonnades surmounted by 140 statues of saints. In the center of Saint Peter's Square is the 84-foot tall Egyptian obelisk dating back to 2500 BC in Heliopolis. The obelisk was brought to Rome by Emperor Caligula in 37 AD.

Basilica of Saint Paul Outside The Walls

Saint Paul Outside the Walls, Basilica Papale San Paolo Fuori le Mura in Italian, is one of the major basilicas in Rome, Italy. It is one of the four papal basilicas and is considered one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in the city. The basilica's majestic columns stand tall, reaching towards the heavens, as if offering a bridge between earth and divine realms. Carved reliefs, weathered by centuries, adorn the entrance, narrating tales of martyrdom and devotion, their intricate details a testament to the skilled hands of artisans long gone. Every corner of the basilica holds treasures to be discovered. Marble columns rise like sentinels, their smooth surfaces bearing witness to the touch of countless pilgrims who sought solace within these sacred walls. Portraits of popes, their wise and weathered visages, silently observe, reminding all of the unbroken bond between the papacy and the faithful. Mosaics, painstakingly crafted, depict scenes of celestial majesty.

As always, Rome cabs gave us a wonderful experience. Cesare picked us up at the train station and gave us a tour of his city. We had requested specific places we would like to see and he obliged. We have used Rome Cabs before and recommend them to anyone going to Italy.

My husband and I want to thank Rome Cabs for making our trip to Italy so perfect. They picked us up at the airport, took us to our hotel in Rome, picked us up at our hotel in Rome and took us to Pompeii (and waited fror us) and on to Positano, picked us up in Positano and took us to the Rome airport. There were no glitches. Every pickup was perfect. The drivers were polite and great drivers. We have now used your services on two separate trips -13 years apart. I hope that it will not be as long a wait until the next trip. Thank you.

It was a great experience! We only had 1 day in Rome and Franco took us to see all the main attractions, got to spend a bit of time on each, take pictures. Franco was awesome! Pointing out stuff we needed to know, a bit of history, he was caring (got a bit sick with the heat) and it was a great experience! If you are short on time, we believe this was the best way to experience and see as much of Rome in a day. We loved it!!

We just finished a two day Rome tour with Michele as our driver. Michele is super attentive and we highly recommend him and his company. The Rome Cab company is great right from the beginning when we started our inquiry. They responded quickly and is attentive to details. They are not a tour company. However when they notice there is a change to the recent Pantheon admission they communicated with us right away. We were not able to buy tickets online with the new booking system and they were kind enough to secure our tickets for us otherwise we had to wait a long time to buy tickets right at the spot. It was a very pleasant and stress free experience with Michele as our driver. He would try to get as close to the sight as possible and provided us with lots of information and history for all the sites. He also made lunch reservations for us to ensure we could sample true Italian food. We would definitely recommend both the Rome Cabs and Michelle for anyone who wants a stress free experience in Rome

We used Rome Cabs 3 times this trip (2 adults, 17 and 11 year olds). When arriving at FCO our driver was waiting a yellow sign with my name, so easy to spot and a short walk to the van. Also used them going to the cruise port from our hotel- our driver was 10 minutes early, friendly, and got us there in plenty of time. But our most memorable was our day tour, from hotel. Our driver picked us up early, adjusted the plan based on our getting a different Colosseum time than they suggested (it is very hard to get tickets on the Colosseum website!), tailored the morning slightly to our interests (our kids were faster so we saw more). He recommended lunch and gelato near the Pantheon, had a private tour guide for the Colosseum (again who helped us navigate slightly faster for kids who were tired). It was a perfect day in Rome and we saw so much! Highly recommend. We did have to book our own tickets to Colosseum and Vatican but we knew that in advance and they sent specific instructions.

We had an outstanding driver, Franco. His English was excellent. His knowledge of Rome’s history was excellent. And, he treated us like family. He managed the tour expertly, including time management, and adjusting the tour for our preferences. My wife, daughter and I got to see so much of Rome in one day. It was amazing. Franco’s recommendations for restaurants, shopping and Gelato were all greatly appreciated. For instance, he took us to the oldest Gelato shop in Rome, which was amazing. Throughout the process, booking the tour and tailoring it to our needs was easy with Stefano’s Rome Cabs. I highly recommend them to anyone visiting Rome.

We recently visited Rome and hired Michele to be our driver and tour guide. He arrived at our hotel and was punctual, well dressed and polite. He carefully planned each day together to pack in everything we wanted to see (and then some) and accommodated our scheduled guided tours of the Vatican and Colosseum. Michele knows every inch of the city and had so much knowledge to share and recommended the most amazing restaurant to try some classic Italian pasta dishes. It was the best place we ate all week. He is also a great driver; he navigated the busy narrow streets with ease and never lost his cool. Would highly recommend this company, (especially Michele) we used them for cruise port and airport transfer as well. Always great service.

Booked a private tour for Sulmona & Castel di Ieri. Our driver Radu was amazing! He offered so many great bits of information all along the way. He was so friendly and responsive to our questions and requests. Highly recommend.

My wife and I recently traveled to Rome (our third time) with our senior parents (their first time). We were looking for a private driver who could navigate the places in Rome we wanted to see and also accommodate the mobility issues of our family. Within 5 minutes of Cesare arriving and chatting with our family, we knew we were in good hands. He spent a great deal of time understanding our needs and tailored our two-day Rome adventure to our specifications and even added a few "extra" stops that he knew we would love. Imagine our delight when we were lucky enough to have Cesare as our driver for both the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany day trips we had also scheduled. Just like in Rome, he took us on an amazing tour through both itineraries with the care and attention that only someone who truly loves hospitality can bring. If you are considering booking with Rome Cabs, ask for Cesare by name, and you will not be disappointed!

I want to thank Michele, Roberto, Radu, Ibra, and Dana for caring for us in our private tour around Roma! Drivers were very professionals, courteous and very patient with our big and diverse group.
