Here your adventure makes it's first stop at the 3rd largest Oasis in the world. Here you will walk over a bridge that straddles the actual faultline. 30 minutes are spent here where there is about a half mile trail you can optionally take with your guide. Restrooms are also located here before we venture far into the wilderness.

We travel by Hummer into the mouth of a canyon that was formed by the San Andreas Fault. Here the adventure in your Hummer begins and we follow a road many Jeeps will need to return. 1.5 billion year old rocks are in this canyon that date back to the bottom of the Grand Canyon! The scenery is mind-bending as you see the tortured rock formations beneath the cobalt blue skies of the high desert.

Ours was some serious off-roading adventures with Gary of Adventure Hummer Tours, on the edge of the Indio Hills and deep into the Andreas Fault, then an awesome hike by foot to the Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve in the Coachella Valley Preserve. Over rough terrain, we witnessed a treasure chest full of geological sites - an experience you don't want to miss! Right on the heels of a torrential rain just the day before, Gary's expertise in the earth sciences and knowledge of the off-road trails made our experience a truly epic adventure that you most definitely need to do!

The San Andreas Hummer Tour was great! We are from Ohio and my son lives here in California. From the time we booked to the end was top of the line. Gary, our driver was very informative on everything, a great driver and made our excursion a great experience with lasting memories. We will use Adventure Hummer Tours next time in California. He said it was too cold and no one else was on the tour so we took a different tour that was awesome because the guide was so great. But the vehicle was not good. They cheated out on that part

The wind was blowing really hard that day and our hummer was exchanged for an enclosed vehicle. The other couple decided not to go so my son, Russ and I had essentially a private tour with Jeff. Jeff had really good explanations for the faults and we touched on both the Pacific and North American Plates. I learned how to recognize the faults and how to spot them. We had a great time. Once we got off the freeway where there was some heavily blowing sand, the weather was pretty good although a bit cooler than I'd like. I picked this tour because my son is a 4 wheel guy and I wanted to see some of the back country around here especially the fault. (I am a recent transplant (18 months). I am planning on taking another tour or two with this company so I will have some good ideas about where to take my guests on my own or on a tour.

Firstly I have to say The guide Gary and driver Bill were brilliant. First part of the trip to the oasis was superb The information was really really good. I have to say after that I was a little disappointed as I was hoping to see the San Andreas Fault and we went off into a canyon with great rocks and views, but not really what I was expecting in relation to seeing the fault.
