The tour is good but their advertising is misleading because the ticket to enter the castles are not included in the price. Instead, the tour operator informa you once the bus is on its way that you “can” purchase tickets to enter the castels. Why wouldnt the buyer assume at tour to the castles includes tickets to emter the destination? Its deliberstely misleading. The castle tickets double the price of the tour. Beware!

The castles and the nature of Bavaria are fantastic and spectacular. The Linderhof’s guide is very good. Her explanation is clear and adequate.

Our driver was great and our tour guide (Marie Ann, I believe) was amazing. As a solo traveler, she took me under her wing and made great recommendations. Very knowledgeable, funny and very kind.

I would like to start by offering up 3 and half stars, as 3 is not really enough. A tough one to assess, as the benefits of a tour are clear: informative and lovely guide (check), all transport taken care of (check), some great views from the coach (check). However, the flip side is that there simply isn't enough time to appreciate both sites. Both sites have limited interiors, where you cannot linger because all tours are managed by their own professional hosts to a strict time schedule. This keeps the pace rattling along nicely. However, in order to keep up with the schedule of the tour and keep your seat on the coach, you have to attempt Linderhof in particular at a sprint. If you ignore all of the outbuildings and literally take a jog to the temple at the top of the site for some rather splendid views, you might be able to make it back to the coach in time...just. Neuschwanstein castle was shrouded in fog for most of our trip and we were greeted by the most dramatic thunderstorm which created a rather miserable ascent to the castle, on what is a steep road. There are options for horse and carriage, or simply a bus, too. Mountain regions enjoy a lot of additional rain and that's the chance you take. We got a 20 minute break in the rain and were treated to some simply sublime views, which made the limp through the rain all worth it. The weather is obviously beyond the control of the guide and they seem to have the amount of time to spend at Neuschwanstein just about right, whereas the time spent at Linderhof could probably do with an extra 30 minutes, at least. Truly lovely, supportive and enlightening tour aside from the need to race around the sites a bit too much.

We loved this trip! Instructions were very clear for pick up, and the location was very easy to find. Our guide did a phenomenal job. She was very informed and answered all questions regarding both the trip and history of castles. We would highly recommend!

Did the tour late May, was raining on and off only showers. Meeting place was easy to find, bus has a huge Mentor sign. Was greeted by Christine(spelling?) the lovely tour guide. Left on time, bus was full but comfy. Get the ticket to go inside the castles, you don’t want to get stuck roaming the grounds of both castles wondering “what does it feel to be inside”. There’s a lot of walking and the stairs inside the castle feels unending, just take your time. There’s plenty of time to walk around the grounds. Have late lunch, drink beer or coffee close to the castle entrance. Entered castle at 1610 and back to the bus by 1740. Christine was so nice and articulate in English, Tony is smooth driver. Highly recommended tour.

Tour guide Maria was fantastic! I hesitated to book the tour for both castles, but it was the right call. You have to go to these if nearby. You must!
