My tour guide Sam Peebles was extremely knowledgeable about the events and an amazing storyteller. He took me back in 1960s America and explained the assassination and other occurrings in great detail. This is a must do tour for anyone interested in history!

Charles_M

Sam is TOTALLY inappropriate with his egotistical attitude. He speaks about himself and his personal “bad” marriage and alcoholism and blames it on “ women” . He spoke about his past not only as a “ bad” husband but a “ bad” employee! He is a BAD Business owner as well! My sister in law has to walk around and can’t stand in one place due to a bad knee. She walked away while he was talking to take a picture of the window where Lee Harvey Oswald was shot and he abruptly stopped talking and said “ she walked away and just made me lose my thought” she was less than 3 feet away and I replied” she can still hear you” he replied “ wow way to check my ego” . Sorry but we PAID for a tour of JFK history not the Sam Peebles “ poor me “ life story ! This tour was described as a a one hour “walking “ tour , we stood in one place and only moved within 20 feet in an hour and a half! He also told us this was a 2 hour and 20 minute “ tour” and that trip advisor advertised it incorrectly and trip advisor won’t fix it! Once again Sam is the “ victim” At one point I gasped at the people standing in the middle of the street on the X and oncoming traffic. He basically just stopped and tried to “ insult “ me for my concern . I replied back “once you work in an emergency room and see people that have been hit by cars you don’t think it’s a “ normal occurrence” He snickered and said “ guess I’m used to it “ . He’s IMMUNED and unaware of a lot of things especially manners and respect . He acts unprofessional in every aspect including his behavior, the way he dresses and his rude remarks ! He does not really it’s facts he embellishes! He told us that “ Mary and Jean were 29 year old spinsters and Mary was there because of the hood looking Dallas police officer on the motorcade!we fact checked that and both Mary Moorman and Jean Hill were married and Mary had an 11 year old son. Mary photographed the president less than a second after he was shot! Mary was born in 1932, married in 1952 divorced in 1973! Jean was born in 1931, married in 1952 divorced in 1964! He also was incorrect on the diseases JFK had. He mixes up the names of the diseases ! His facts on the names of drugs he used were also incorrect! My sister in law commented about why after the first shot the motorcade didn’t speed up .. he commented “ didn’t you listen 10 minutes ago when I said it was too loud with the motorcycles”? Well who cares if she heard what he said , as a tour guide and I use that term very loosely , he should reiterate it! He also wants to take your pictures with your phone in settings of HIS choice ! I voiced from the start we aren’t big on taking pictures of ourselves . When we walked a whole 25 feet he wanted my sister in laws phone to take a picture of us with our backs facing the road with the marked “ X “ where JFK was shot she said “ no we are good I will take a picture” he got verbally abusive and said “ that’s it I’m done you have been a problem from the start and there are NO REFUNDS” and he QUIT ‘ He also commented on how we were the “ weirdest “ 3 people he’d ever met. We believe he picks out an individual in every group to “ alienate and target “ Sam Peebles is a poor excuse as a tour guide and “local historian” DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME and MONEY on this 50 foot tour about “poor SAM PEEBLES! Do yourself a favor , save your money and your sanity and read Wikipedia and some JFK factual articles and take a self guided tour.

Sam was fully knowledgeable on assassination topic and the event leading up to the shooting. His level of detail plus allowing to get to know him prior to the beginning of the tour made this feel like a very personal experience. Photos? Didn’t even have to ask, he happily took photos for us making sure key locations were in the background (such as the book depository and the shooting X’s that were located in the middle of the road). If you are a conspiracy fan, feel free to engage theories with Sam because as he says, “You can’t argue with people in this subject, when everyone is correct in their own opinion”.

Great information provided and entertaining. Great refresher on historical events and information that we didn’t know.

Sam knew a lot of the history and made it interesting but we deducted stars because it was way too long. He talked too much about his own history and himself. He also made some inappropriate comments to one of the people in our group about looking like a criminal.

Horrible experience with my family. The first 20 min was about our tour guides personal life which includes his past marriage problems and previous alcohol dependency. He decided to let everyone know that his “pecker” wasnt enough for her which left my cousin uncomfortable as well as myself. After getting onto the actual assassination, his “jokes” between information were unnecessary- even insinuating that i was the criminal of the group which felt highly inappropriate considering i was the only Mexican on this tour. I brushed it off as a joke at first but then he decided to comment on the Asian man walking next to us saying quote: “Oh thats just a Chinese tourist dont worry, you can bump into him.” and when I defended the man, he got mad at me and said I couldn't take a joke. This man is racist and didnt even need to say such a thing in the first place. It was completely out of the blue and ruined the entire tour for us. We wanted to leave right then but he made an effort to SHAME everyone who decided to leave early and we didnt want to draw more attention to the man or the situation. This was the WORST tour experience ever and i regret suggesting it to my family.

A wealth of knowledge on the subject of JFK and the assassination. He was also good with pointing out all the ins and outs of each conspiracy theory regarding the event. Entertaining to listen to at the same time. Thanks.

Sam did an exceptional job of relaying all of the details of the assassination. It was like listening to a true crimes episode. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He also took the time to take great photos of us throughout the tour!

Angelica_R

Sam was absolutely amazing. He brought the timeline of JFKs assassination to life. Extremely knowledgeable and captivating.
