We begin our tour in the city's historic Greyfriars Kirkyard where JK Rowling spent a lot of time while writing the books. Here we'll see several names on gravestones that inspired characters in the series including William McGonagall and Thomas Riddell. From here we will also see two potential inspirations for Hogwarts in the form of George Heriot's School and Edinburgh Castle.

National Museum of Scotland

Some small connections here to Harry Potter but also a good location to talk about the Balmoral Hotel where JK Rowling finished the series.

Melanie was the one to show us around and I have nothing but positive things to say about her, even though the weather could have been better (classic Edinburgh). Melanie kept our spirits high and revealed to us some of the many magical details about the city of Edinburgh.

Harry Potter is everywhere you look in Edinburgh and this looks into even the nooks and crannies. So much fun!!! Christine was an amazing tour guide and made the trip feel so magical! We learned a lot of fun facts my boyfriend and I hadn't known, got wonderful photos, and even trinkets from the Harry Potter inspired stores Christine recommended at the end of the trip! 10/10 highly enjoyed!

Really brilliant time seeing all of the Harry Potter sites in Edinburgh. We did a private tour with Becky and she was just brilliant, answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable and intrigued to learn all we could. Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves Harry Potter to do this tour. Reasonable price and excellent experience.

Just finished our Potter tour with Charlie. What a fantastic tour! Free, but donations accepted. Strongly recommend a donation. This is the third of three tours this weekend (the only one that was free) and by far the best. Charlie was knowledgeable, passionate, and very funny!

A fun tour to see some of the sights that inspired JK Rowling as she wrote the Harry Potter series. Especially good for kids but there were a bunch of adults who enjoyed ourselves too. We saw Tom Riddles grave!
