Your Itinerary

Musee d'Orsay

Considered one of the finest museums in Europe, the Musée d'Orsay was one of Paris' main train stations until the 1980s, when it was converted into an art gallery. The building's architecture is magnificent, and inside you'll find a stunning collection of some of Europe's most renowned 19th- and 20th-century paintings, sculptures and photography. Impressionism is the Musée d'Orsay's claim to fame. Strolling side-by-side with your private guide, admire beautiful pieces by Edouard Manet, Paul Gauguin, August Renoir, Claude Monet and other masters; notable works include Manet’s Le Déjeuner sur l’Herbe and Renoir’s Bal du Moulin de la Galette. You'll gain insight into the styles and techniques used by these revolutionary artists, who broke standards by setting up their easels outside, en plein air, to capture their impressions of their surroundings.

Jardin des Tuileries

After your Musée d'Orsay tour, follow your guide across the Passerelle Solferino to the Jardin des Tuileries (Tuileries Gardens), adjacent to the Louvre Museum, and take in beautiful views over the Seine Rive.

Musee de l’Orangerie

Arrive at the Musée de l’Orangerie for your second museum tour. The Musée de l’Orangerie is home to a superb collection of works from luminaries including Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Paul Cézanne, but it’s the 'Nymphéas' ('Water Lillies') murals by Claude Monet that draws most visitors. Huge in scale yet immaculate in execution, this striking series of paintings was created in Monet’s garden at Giverny, and is considered to demonstrate the artist’s groundbreaking brush techniques to perfection. Marvel at the play of light across the panels and listen as your guide highlights the subtle intricacies found throughout the works. After covering the highlights of the Musée de l’Orangerie, your tour comes to a close. You're free to continue exploring the museum on your own.

Our guide is changed at the last minute. Hannah was knowledgeable but we booked the tour specifically to have a continuum of monet from D’Orsay to lorangerie and she spent much time doing ‘her tour’. She did not know many paintings had been moved downstairs. So we were rushed through theb1874 exhibit. We have been to school and have been to many exhibitions. We know art. We wanted to spend 2 hours with the impressionists not 20 min

Our guide was very good and enjoyed Musee de lOrangerie particularly Monets Water Lillies having already been to Giverny to see the real thing. Unfortunately we could not go into Musee dOrsay as there were problems with the doors. Consequently we asked to go to Rodins gardens and our guide made the visit interesting as he explained some thoughts around the sculptures.

Manuela was wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. We got delayed by a strike but she was still able to get us to the highlights of both museums.

Sara

This tour seemed a little overpriced and underwhelming. We expected much more from our guide for the pricing of this tour.

This tour is a must. Selina was an amazing guide. Not only was the whole experience relaxed and highly informative, but the paintings especially were absolutely incredible. Be prepared for a lot of walking.

The tour guide was not great in English and had trouble talking so we could understand and often fumbled over words that we got little out of her chatter ! She was not there in time and we had to call her up. No tullieries on tour. Very big rip off ! Cost under $20 both admissions pd. $388! Unhappy!

Got to museum. No one there knew where our tour was. Were able to get in and tour on our own, which of course we could have done without Viator. Called the contact number and the emergency number and never got an answer. Our other two tours were fine but could have been booked directly. My advice wouldbe to do alittle research on the web and book tours directly with the entitty.
