Borgo Storico di Manarola

Explore Manarola by foot or relax in a cafe or bar. From Manarola enjoy a shared boat ride to Monterosso. The harbor area is filled with colorful rowing boats and becomes the main sunbathing and swimming spot of the village from morning until dusk. In fact, this is the perfect place to spend a lazy day sunbathing and watching people jumping off the cliffs. Although there is no real beach here, it has some of the best deep-water swimming around. Along the main road the boats are pulled onto dry land every time the sea is rough. The village is all ups and downs, with steep narrow alleys carrugi, leading to the sea.

With car-free winding streets, a lively harbor, and charming shops, Vernazza offers a delightful experience for visitors. At its heart lies the lively Piazza Marconi and the stunning 14th-century Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia. The village boasts scenic hiking trails, such as the famous Sentiero Azzurro, connecting it to neighboring Monterosso al Mare. Vernazza's gastronomic allure lies in its exquisite Ligurian cuisine and locally-produced Cinque Terre white wine.

Monterosso

Monterosso is the largest of the five coastal villages known as the Cinque Terre. The village is located on hills cultivated with lemons, vines and olives. Its amazing beaches, its beautiful reefs and the sea’s crystal clear waters make this small village one of the most popular of the Italian Riviera.Monterosso is divided in two parts marked by the medieval tower of Aurora. The old town of Monterosso is dominated by the ruins of the castle and characterized by typical narrow medieval streets, carruggi, with multi-coloured terraced houses, shops and restaurants.

The tour was great but there was one detail that took away from the experience. The guide did not have his microphone on for the first 1 1/2 hours so we could not hear him give the history and points of interest along the way and on the way back he only spoke to those in the front seat.

Great day with the guide, Giacomo. I’d like to have stayed longer in Manarola and Monterosso al Mare than Vernazza (because of there were too many tourist) The guide was very professional and caring.

I will recommend this tour to any and everyone. Cirque Terre was so beautiful and it seemed like it was a different world. Jacob was amazing!! We had a wonderful time and can't say enough good things about it. Thank you for making our trip memorable.

It was nice to have someone else handle the logistics of the travel from Florence and then the train travel between towns. Our tour guide was very nice. However it was quite expensive for the experience. Having been through it I realized how easily I could have handled it myself if I just would have done the research.

Beautiful drive with a professional, friendly guide. He was a skilled driver who ensured our comfort throughout the day and shared his knowledge of the area and country. There was more than enough free time for leisurely exploration. I also appreciated the truly small group of 6 people. The early morning departure from Florence gave us a bit of time in Cinque Terre before the crowds of people arrived.

The three places that we visited were amazing!! Great views and nice of taking the boat and train for transportation . This tour is important to coordinate the time of the boat to be able to see all three terres

Our tour guide Giovanni was fantastic. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable about the area, and personable. He made the entire day a great experience.

Places visited was great view but too crowded. Had lunch at the restaurant service was slow. Why we gave 3 stars? Well the tour guide more like a driver! Is a silience drive but I must say is safe.

Loved this trip! We got a bit unlucky and got stuck in traffic on the way there, so that delayed us a bit. The waves were also pretty rough, so we couldn’t take the boat from Manarola to Monterosso. Despite that, still highly recommend this trip. The views of the water and the village in Manarola were stunning! A short train ride with our guide to Monterosso had us admiring the beaches and narrow streets of the village. Here we decided to use our free time and stopped for a lemon spritz next to the water. Another short train ride with our guide took us to Vernazza where we had lunch and more time to explore. The only stressful part was taking the train back to la spezzia by ourselves to meet our guides. Due to no boats running that day and some train delays, our train was VERY crowded. Highly recommend for the beauty of these coastal villages.
