Your Itinerary

Centre Pompidou

A visit to the Pompidou Center is as much about the building as the art — it stands out from the Paris skyline in an almost controversial sort of way. After learning about the odd, color-coded architecture and inside-out concept of the museum itself, you will follow your expert guide through the equally-bizarre and conceptual works in the galleries. Dive into the modern collection and see works by Picasso and Matisse, learning about their contributions to Cubism and Fauvism. Get surreal with art created during World Wars while discussing the Dada movement. Head to the 50s and swinging 60s when Andy Warhol was spearheading Pop Art. You’ll hear about French artists as well as international names, possibly including Mondrian, Pollock, O’Keefe, among other artists who have worked during movements including Futurism, Bauhaus, and abstract expressionism. Continue towards the lesser-known world of contemporary art. Familiar with Minimalism and Fluxus? You will be after the tour. Stop by Dubuffet’s winter garden to immerse yourself in an installation project before learning about multimedia projects housed in the galleries. By the end, you’ll have a richer understanding of more recent artworks that go beyond what’s in the Louvre or the Musée d’Orsay, bringing you up to speed on the art world.

Wonderful tour of the Pompidou Museum with Sunday, an art history academic and artist herself. We look our 18 yo daughter who will be starting art school at college in August and we really wanted to show her the world of modern and contemporary art. Sunday's descriptions of each work of art and how they fit into the evolution of the historical eras and development of movements blew our daughter's mind. She has been researching Kandinsky, Delaunay, Chagall, Dix, Duchamp, Serre and Picasso ever since. Having a guide who is passionate about the artwork can change your perspective on the world. Thank you for the amazing and meaningful education.

Did a tour of the Pompidou Centre with Sunday. She was well prepared and the 2-hour tour went by so fast, that I would have added more time, if not for previous plans that evening. She is extremely knowledgeable in all the types and movements of art, and in everything related to the art world.

Unfortunately there was an unforseen strike at Pompidou so we were not able to go in. But Bel our guide was so calm and reassuring, and quickly redirected us to the Pinault Collection which was within walking distance. Not only did she walk us all the way there, she gave us a brief history of the city, and gave us many other museum suggestions for us to go! She’s SO friendly and knowlegable, she is your ultimate guide to Paris! Thank you so much!

Incredible art collection. Our guide was very knowledgeable and walked us through the history and evolution of the different periods. Absolutely loved the Kandinsky paintings. A really interesting tour and the architecture of the building by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers is wonderful to see in person. Thank you for a wonderful tour.

Daniel was a fun, funny, knowledgeable, and experienced guide who made our experience at the Lourve top-notch. We learned a lot, while beating the crowds and lines due to Daniel’s efficiency. He reached out by telephone and text prior to be sure we were able to easily meet up, as the Tour De France was complicating things. My 13 year old daughter, who doesn’t have much interest in art museums, said it was a 10/10 experience. The 2.5 hours flew by. Thank you, Daniel!
