Awesome swimming with the croc's! Cannot recommend enough. Informative and captivating. Short time but sweet, well worth it!

We had been here 16years earlier on our 25th Wedding Anniversary Trip and had just had our 41st so thought we'd take another look. This is a well set out habitat center for wildlife. Very close up and interactive. You get a timetable of events and talks along the way. The birds in the park are very friendly and will try and join you for lunch in the large cafe area but it's not a good idea to feed them. Often the food we eat us not good for them. Lots of wildlife to see. There's an area you go into and get up close to kangaroos, wallabies etc Allow plenty of time to wonder through here. There is also a very large gift shop. When we returned to our campervan, there was a very large snake skin on the ground. We'd had a visitor whilst in the center. This is a must do for families while in Port Douglas.

A lot more relaxed than my first visits, especially with the birds. You can interact with them more without staff breathing down your neck. The five day pass for one admission is awesome.

Waste of money it’s small hardly anything to see really boring walk round if in 1 hour food is vile cooked and kept warm. Not worth the price

We’ve been to many many zoos around the world, and this one was number one in having friendly and accessible animals in a lush rain forest setting! All sorts of beautiful plumage birds came up to us, roosted on us, picked at our lunch. 😝. You can walk in the middle of hopping wallabies and (for a small fee) hold a koala, python, and baby crocodile (even ok for kids). Food at the cafe was excellent, and reasonably priced; we enjoyed the fresh from the oven chicken and mushroom pasty, curried egg salad sandwich, and multi ingredient pasta salad. Staff were incredibly friendly and nice; after I bought a ticket to have my photo taken holding a koala and changed my mind (so as not to stress it out), the staffer credited my unused ticket to my gift shop purchase without my even asking. A really fun way to spend a couple hours. Both kid and adult friendly, and all well protected from the heat and rain. Strongly recommend!

We really enjoyed the wildlife habitat. The areas for the animals seemed well designed and provided a good amount of space for the animals, so there wasn't a zoo feel to the place. The kangaroos were amazing and definitely didn't shy away from being fed or having their chins scratched. The birds in the Cafe area were super friendly and also enjoyed getting scratches and cuddling on your shoulder. The croc feeding was very educational and was fun to see them and learn more about them. There were some rogue pelicans that apparently drop into the exhibit regularly, be careful around them, they aren't friendly and chased us and snapped at us when we tried to get around them. I didn't realize a pelican bill was sharp, but apparently it is. We just tried to walk around them and they got aggressive , so if you see them there stay clear. The staff was all very friendly, the facilities were well maintained and the animals seemed happy in their environment. Definitely worth the time to visit. And get some food for the kangaroos in the gift shop before heading in. They're very food driven and you'll have a much more interesting experience if you have treats.

This is one of the coolest wildlife habitats ever. We did the breakfast with the birds so got to hold a bunch of birds including a gay parrot! The wildlife habitat allows you to get up and close with a lot of different animals and apparently is the only place in New Zealand where you can hold a Koala (learned this on a tour in Sydney). Highly recommend.

Small zoo but full of wildlife and very interesting. The tearoom has resident cockatoos who try to extort food out of you despite warnings not to do so. Can't these birds read? Some of the most beautiful pink cockatoos I've ever seen are here.

It was a fun packed visit seeing all the animals and the educational presentations. Plenty to see and do interactions with the birds.
