Haydn worked for 30 years at Esterhazy Palace, composing and conducting. It was an excellent experience to visit where he worked, particularly Haydn Hall, and the museum in the palace. We took the self-guided Haydn tour, much interesting historical information about Haydn and the Esterhazy family. We took the train from Vienna, about 1.25 hours, then a taxi to the palace. Very worthwhile day trip!
